DH ordered a camera, a very pricey camera.. ( well, to me! I don't know about cameras, it's almost 1400 pounds. Annoying, but that's a whole other thread!)

Today I've been home all day, as DD1 doesn't have nursery, my plans fell through and DD2's rash looks horrific) No one knocked on my door.. No one rang the bell. I haven't hoovered or anything loud, and I have a dog who usually barks at both of these things.

I go outside to get my charger from the car and there is a box on my doorstep.

It's the camera.

Clearly unsigned for, no attempt even made.

I do live on a lovely street, but there is a school here so lots of foot traffic. Anyone could have taken it.

It's over a thousand pounds!!

I am very very tempted to tell them I didn't get it and just cancel my order...?

Hmm is this still going?! I thought this was wrapped up yesterday. People seriously getting their knickers in a twist!

curiousgeorgie · 28/02/2014 12:45

Be cool, thanks so much for your comment on my other thread, but I don't get it, so if you're trying to offend me, try harder?

we had a dsi delivered in the same way at christmas ( christmas eve to be exact)

we were thrilled to get it in time for christmas, but the amount of people who told us to phone and complain was unbelievable!

it makes me Hmm when they tell me about things they havent had delivered. and it makes me not trust them.

Just because lots of people would do it irl doesnt make it right

BeCool · 28/02/2014 12:55

what is your failure to recognise and/or appreciate poetry got to do with me? Why is my appreciation of poetry taken personally you?

TBH i didn't even realise the same person started both threads. Methinks you are trying too hard to be professionally offended.

Aeroflotgirl · 28/02/2014 12:57

Be cool that's for op to decide, she knows the weather in her area, but if it was here it would be soaking, it's windy and cold which is not good for electronics.

BeCool · 28/02/2014 13:00

I don't think the OP gets to decide if it rains or not.
It is insane to think the rain at your place has anything at all to do with this.

normalishdude · 28/02/2014 13:02

YABU . It's called theft.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 28/02/2014 13:22

Lots of cameras have moisture detection stickers inside them,it appears the point of these stickers are so any problem comes up with the product they can say "nope,it's water damage we don't cover that".

If the weather is not to good at the op's location these stickers could have activated meaning if it goes wrong the camera is not covered, and all this happened before she even received the product.

I would want a replacement.

In the past few months,I've had an expensive lamp left on my doorstep and stolen (the person who stole it did get cought) 149 toilet rolls badly packed and left in the rain and almost £1000 worth of weighted blankets in anti suffocation packaging left in a puddle.

When my lamp was stolen,it was pointed out that I had reported problems before very much in a raised eyebrow we don't believe you sort of a way and the driver had signed my name.i had to prove that at the same time the item was delivered I was 20 miles away with several police officers before they replaced my lamp.

If more people reported companies that deliver like this when they are meant to get a signature or secure delivery it would become less acceptable with the delivery companies

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 28/02/2014 15:42

I think I get you Op.

I regularly amuse myself by plotting crimes that I think I could get away with due to the ridiculous stupidity of people around me.

In reality I drive at 69 on the motorway, have never had so much as a parking fine and have regularly told shops / restaurants that they have undercharged me.

Apparently Sue Grafton started her Kinsey Millhone alphabet series after she split up from her husband and spent a lot of time plotting the perfect murder......

PastPerfect · 28/02/2014 16:56

Jeez.

SDTG no one called you a liar Confused You have extrapolated that a comment that was a) directed at someone else and b) contained a smiley wink.

You are determined to see offence where clearly none was meant. I imagine life must very had when you are so overly sensitive.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/02/2014 17:57

I suppose my logic was quite complex, PastPerfect - that explains why you haven't grasped it. Wink

MadBusLady · 28/02/2014 18:17

I read that post the exact same way SDGT has, though reaction was more to conclude OP was just one of those people than to be offended as such. The "irony" mentioned was in context clearly the irony of OP and Fleur being honest about their dishonesty unlike everyone else, hahajollyha, rather than (as OP now claims) a one-word magic signal that she didn't really mean it.

If people would just grasp this exceptionally simple premise and stop trying to rewrite the post and pretend it said something else, SDGT would probably gladly stop talking about it.

MadBusLady · 28/02/2014 18:17

Sorry, SDTG. Those letters anyway.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/02/2014 18:29

Gladly, madbuslady!

PastPerfect · 28/02/2014 18:35

I'm not pretending the post said anything other than what was actually written, that is a position reserved by those who read "x is only honest person Wink " and read "y is a liar". Tiresome.

Madbuslady were you offended? This whole thread is an observation of people who have too much time on th hands

MadBusLady · 28/02/2014 18:37

Was I offended?

Still not reading posts properly then?

PastPerfect · 28/02/2014 18:47

I'm reading.. And you seem to be avoiding commiting. You read the thread exactly the same way as SDTG who was* offended but you're reaction was not so much offence as concluding OP was one of those. Sounds to me like a nonsensical I don't actually agree with SDTG but she's my mate so I'll stick up for her anyway post.

curiousgeorgie · 28/02/2014 18:51

Sigh...

I didn't mean to offend anybody... That part was a joke! (Fact)

The entire thread was not a joke, but as I said 3 posts in, I was never going to steal it...

Anything else?

Oh yes, the term 'proffesionally offended' is SO apt for so many on here. It began as hilarious but now I'm actually concerned for you all. I don't know how you survive in the real world with such sensitive little souls! Wink

OP posts:
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/02/2014 18:52

It is quite difficult logic! isn't it. If the OP considered herself and fleur to be the only hinest people on the thread, this clearly implies that everyone else on the thread must be dishonest - aka liars. Does that make it easier to understand. Wink

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/02/2014 18:52

Grrr - honest - not hinest.

MadBusLady · 28/02/2014 18:56

No real idea who SDTG is, I'm afraid - in fact I'm pretty sure she had a go at me a while back on a thread about a car seat, but I may be mistaken. And take heart, there is government funding available for basic literacy.

God, this is the dullest flaming I have ever taken part in.

BeCool · 28/02/2014 18:56
MadBusLady · 28/02/2014 18:57

Lots of x-posts, can we just all agree this is fucking boring?

BeCool · 28/02/2014 18:58

God, this is the dullest flaming I have ever taken part in.

Now that ^^ IS funny Grin

BeCool · 28/02/2014 18:58

YYY
