I was running a bath for my 5 month old DS and it was almost done and my brother went in and started having a poo.

There are two toilets in the house. He decided to have a shit next to my sons bath that I was just undressing him for instead of going downstairs.

AIBU? Apparently I am according to him and others, personally I find it a bit disrespectful.

If it was his child and there was only one toilet in the house I'd have waited until they'd done in the bathroom!

He didn't poo in the path, can't really see anything worth getting worked up about really.

SantanaLopez · 21/02/2014 18:37

Oh relax.

Bowlersarm · 21/02/2014 18:39

I really, really don't think your DS would have minded too much.

Sorry, but I'm in the 'relax' camp too.

MamaPingu · 21/02/2014 18:40

I think it's cause he's incredibly selfish this has bugged me so much

It's just something else to add to the list, I know he'd go mental if I went and had a shit next to his bath just before he was getting in.

Sorry!

If he'd the in the bath I could see your point, but no, YABU.

Notify · 21/02/2014 18:41

No, I can't really see a problem either

MamaPingu · 21/02/2014 18:41

Bowlersam- I don't enjoy the smell of somebody's poo though!! Smile

SantanaLopez · 21/02/2014 18:41

Was it just the last straw? You poor thing. It must be really stressful living with your brother and a baby.

Onesleeptillwembley · 21/02/2014 18:41

Aargh. Bloody iPhone keeps changing 'shit' to the.
If he'd shit in the bath

curiousuze · 21/02/2014 18:42

YANBU that is bloody gross, and now you and ds have to sit in the poo stench which lingers for ages in the bath steam. Boke!

Bowlersarm · 21/02/2014 18:42

Do you live together? Or was he visiting?

MamaPingu · 21/02/2014 18:42

So nobody at all thinks he should have simply gone downstairs instead of me having to sit and wait with DS while he leaves a nice aroma in there for us? Shock

OP posts:
MaidOfStars · 21/02/2014 18:42

Disrespectful? Because of the potential for lingering smell?

MamaPingu · 21/02/2014 18:43

He is visiting!

OP posts:
SantanaLopez · 21/02/2014 18:43

My 5 month old clearly enjoyed creating aromas by her nappies!

MamaPingu · 21/02/2014 18:43

I just don't think it's very thoughtful to shit next to a child's bath when he could have gone downstairs just as easy!

OP posts:
VulvaBeaker · 21/02/2014 18:44

Inappropriate.

I could even understand DP, I mean once you've had a baby together, but brother? Bugger off, little sod :D

curiousuze · 21/02/2014 18:45

Mama seriously I am with you! I hate a faceful of someone else's poo stench!

Bowlersarm · 21/02/2014 18:45

Oh he definitely should have used the other one. But I doubt he, himself, would have put much thought into which one to use? And that was why I said YABU. Yes, he was a bit unreasonable but he had to go, so he went!

HumphreyCobbler · 21/02/2014 18:46

Who wants to sit in poo smell whilst bathing the baby?

Sirzy · 21/02/2014 18:47

What harm is someone pooing in he toilet going to do? Seriously get over it!

TheOneWithTheHair · 21/02/2014 18:47

I'm with you op. It's hardly difficult for him to stink out another loo if there's one available. It's rubbish having to smell someone else's poo. YANBU

MangoBiscuit · 21/02/2014 18:47

It would have put me in a shitty mood too! (couldn't resist) But in all seriousness, I would have been annoyed. Does he think his shit smells of roses?

MamaPingu · 21/02/2014 18:48

He literally does whatever suits him, he drives me up the wall Angry

I think I will have to wait til he's running a bath and leave one of DS's stinky nappies in there while it runs Grin

Open a window and get over it
