To tell you that Bad Mothers Club is closing tomorrow

Just in case there are any stray ex-BMs here, I thought I'd let you all know that BMC is finally closing tomorrow

You can see the announcement here

It's a sad day but one that has been long coming.

I hope the powers that be at Mumsnet Towers won't mind me posting this here - there was never an official affiliation between the two sites but a friendly nod was sometimes exchanged.

Goodbye BMC. I made some fabulous friends there and I will miss you

I'm SB :)

I disagree people dangled off Denbee, there were far worse offenders as far as I'm concerned that I never 'got.'

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 13:51

Cat - you are right, never controversial, never nasty, just left quietly once she had had enough. What's not to like?

BelleOfTheBorstal · 14/02/2014 13:52

From memory, Mandy won the glass dildo.
And the whole TiggerOnLegs debacle...

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 13:54

Was Tiggeronlegs also a poster with the user name beginning with P or do I have that wrong?

pictish · 14/02/2014 13:54

Ahhh the Pornies and their adventures in exploiting the vulnerable sexland.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 13:54

Ah yes, I DID remember it right Grin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 13:55

She always used to post the recipe for a chocolate cake that she said was delicious and everyone used to rave about - I made it, it was bloody vile ConfusedGrin

Catsmamma · 14/02/2014 14:10

Didn't Wrenza win the glass dildo ornament.

WireCat · 14/02/2014 14:14

Whatever happened to den bee, I liked her.

Oh my god. Saffron. The pornies. Good god.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 14:15

I'd only just joined before Saffron, can you imagine that being your first meet?? Shock

WireCat · 14/02/2014 14:21

Well it would have been quite an induction. Shock

CalamityKate · 14/02/2014 14:30

Ooh really Dame?? What was in it? I can't imagine a vile chocolate cake!

MrsPnut · 14/02/2014 14:30

No it was MandyNorth that won the glass dildo.
The Pornies were quite creepy, key lime pie anyone?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 14:32

Calamity - neither could I until I tried this, it was years ago, I can't remember but I bunged it away and that has NEVER happened in my whole history with cake and we go way back Grin

Oh I remember Mandy!

CalamityKate · 14/02/2014 14:36

I often wonder how Buffy and her daughter and grandson are getting on.

pictish · 14/02/2014 14:38

Mandynorth - eventually thought of as Mandycunt - do you remember? Ha ha! No - we certainly weren't fluffy were we?

oldwomaninashoe · 14/02/2014 14:54

Some of the threads on there had me in tears, with laughing (very tricky when you are on the PC at work)
I will never forget how generous and supportive the BMrs were when one of my sons was seriously ill a couple of years ago.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 14:55

Oh no, Mandy, surely not?!

arfersixpence · 14/02/2014 14:55

I always thought parenting news/views/advice seemed the secondary purpose of BMC. That was whatvdrew me to it... I came here first as a nervous new mum floored with and and not knowing wtf was going on. MN sorted out my pnd, and BMC sorted out me. I loved that the vibe was women who happened to have children, that it was alright to be who you were, so what if you were a mother. On MN, whilst I will ever be grateful to the ladies who helped me, I received the distinct vibe that the person I am was not acceptable and I should change now that I am a mother. Being here was like being hassled by a mob of health visitors ;)

pictish · 14/02/2014 14:59

Being here was like being hassled by a mob of health visitors
Hahahahhahahaa!! Grin

Still is. Hmm

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/02/2014 15:00

There'll be someone along in a minute to correct our grammar and tell us to fuck off if we don't like it here… Hmm

TaraLott · 14/02/2014 15:00

Didn't you guys invade here a couple of years ago when your site went down for a while, there was a poster called TheVisitor'?
Whatever, Hiya. Grin

mynotfinkso · 14/02/2014 15:09

I'm going to miss it a lot. I was always more a lurker there than a poster but it was the place that made me realise that I wasn't a shit parent. I was drowning in a PND induced fog of inadequacy when I found BMC but the more I read, the more I realised that my parenting was normal and that (almost!) nobody is perfect all the time. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me shout at my screen in frustration! It was always my first port of call in the mornings. Sad day for me.

derektheladyhamster · 14/02/2014 15:52

I have a mug Grin and a beautiful necklace that I won for thread of the month (my allotment thread, felt a bit bad about that because it was mainly other people commenting on it rather than me must have been a slow month) A stack of allotment books and cloth nappies given to me by lovely posters Grin

derektheladyhamster · 14/02/2014 15:52

and I miss the edit button on here Grin
