Parcel arrived on the 2nd of January

it was a delivery that the delivery people put it under there doormat

I took it in in case of theft

We live in flats

I put a note threw their door

It's not been collectected

TortillasAndChocolate · 31/01/2014 20:13

Why do people always have to get superior about their amazing spelling abilities?

MrsWedgeAntilles · 31/01/2014 20:14

Don't open it OP. You took it in with the best of intentions and seem to be trying to let them know so your all above board so far.
Apart from the moral dimension, what if they've got your note but work shifts or something and haven't been able to get over at a time when your in. How will you feel if they come over and you know they know you've got it but its unwrapped and in use - AWKWARD! Your neighbours will think you are a thief for ever more which would be a shame.

Just return it to the sender, you know its the right thing to do.

Royal Mail is privatised now so the queen can sod off.

FourAndDone · 31/01/2014 20:16

Bet they have lost that much hair they daren't leave their flat GrinGrinGrin

PuppyMonkey · 31/01/2014 20:16

Grin - even drug dealers worry about their thinning hair...

MrsCakesPremonition · 31/01/2014 20:16

Will the shampoo bottle fit through the letterbox?

MsLT · 31/01/2014 20:16

four good point! Yodel employees aren't even worried about opening parcels and stealing the contents so I think OP will be fine!

TortillasAndChocolate · 31/01/2014 20:16

I liked it better before we knew what it was

And can't you be hanged for saying the queen can sod off?

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2014 20:17

Shampoo? SHAMPOO? Confused For thinning hair? Grin

Wrap it back up and stick it back under the mat.

PeriodFeatures · 31/01/2014 20:17

you opened it! That's theft. I honestly think that the neighbour couldnt read your note. Grin I hope you will makes sure they get the super shampoo! that stuff isnt cheap.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2014 20:18

God, Mumsnet is a weird place! OP takes in parcel, leaves note, knocks on the door time a day for 29 days ( an interesting definition of "scant attempt to contact them" by the way!), and has now apparently murdered her neighbours by depriving them of life saving medication.....

MsLT · 31/01/2014 20:19

Decant it into a freezer bag and sqwish it through the letterbox.
On second thoughts, no don't.
