My mum died when I was a child and my dad a few years later. I have never visited their graves and have no wish to. I hate cemeteries. I have heard from a relative that their graves are dirty to the point you cannot read the lettering...and as their nearest relative its up to me to sort out. I do not want to go and clean them as like I said I hate cemeteries. I am skint at the moment and have no desire to spend money on this when I could put that money towards things my children need.

Aibu? Be honest pls!

I don't want a grave.I want my ashes in a marmalade jar at the back of dd's pantry labelled 'Mum'. She says she will do this. Otherwise she can just scatter me somewhere where people will be. I do not under any circumstances, want to be buried or scattered in some lonely place.

YANBU Op. I agree with formerbabe.
There's a poem that says 'Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep'. I've always believed in that. I tended my grans grave about 200 miles away and it broke my bloody heart but gave me a bit of closure.

Do not feel obliged OP
