Something ive experinced quite a lot, nothing against that personally if thats what you like.

It seems so many men like that look and they cant fathom a woman who doesnt go in for it.

I hate shopping and bling, and dresses. I like books and quirky things, big, messy hair and eyeliner.

I know it cant be everyman, but it really feels like its the majority.

Do i need to get myself down jane norman?

Ah I see it is heading towards insults.

I wouldn't be with a man (or friends with anyone) who refer to other human beings as "that", just because of how the've decided to dress.

As long as those saying that will also point at men and say the same, I suppose, it's then just a lack of manners and not sexist.

Try living by the mantra "live and let live".

Wuxiapian · 27/01/2014 15:08

You must be surrounding yourself with the wrong type of people.

WorraLiberty · 27/01/2014 15:10

I genuinely don't know any men who go for that look

And that includes my 22yr old DS and his mates

squoosh · 27/01/2014 15:12

Some of the girls on Towie do look good, they aren't all poured into bandage dresses.

It's the wearing of full length blingy evening gowns to nightclubs that leaves me a bit baffled, although yes they're amping it up for the telly.

I used to indulge in a bit of fake tan myself so I can't sneer at that.

limitedperiodonly · 27/01/2014 15:13

Well some men must like it because it's a popular look. It's not compulsory though, so what's the problem?

Lj8893 · 27/01/2014 15:14

I know men/women who like that look.
I know men/women who don't like that look.
I know men/women who like no make up.
I know men/women who like a little bit of make up.
I know men/women who like a lot of make up.

My point is, everyone is different. And thank god, as the world would be a very dull place if we were all the same.

VoyageDeVerity · 27/01/2014 15:16

I actually really like the look and it suits some girls. It's really feminine and pretty. I would never look down on anyone for wearing make up and looking glam :/

Creamycoolerwithcream · 27/01/2014 15:17

Thinking back to 25 years ago I did wear mega make up and get through a massive can of hairspray (i think it was called hard rock or something like that) a week so maybe it's just a case of I'm getting on a bit now. The cast do look good though although I agree with the poster who said they look older than their age.

Sparklysilversequins · 27/01/2014 15:19

I think they often look stunning, especially in the sparkly night club frocks.

PleaseJustLeaveYourBrotherAlon · 27/01/2014 15:20

dh is from Essex. He went foreign (me) in the end Wink Grin

I really hope the fake look goes away soon, it's rubbish young girls think they need to have fake eye lashes, too much make up, chicken fillets and dear god bald vajazzeled fannies to be "normal"

Lj8893 · 27/01/2014 15:20

what's tacky about that??

squoosh · 27/01/2014 15:21

She looks stunning Lj!

FloweryFeatureWall · 27/01/2014 15:22

I like it. I would love to have a go at it but I just look a mess (MORE of a mess) the moment a speck of makeup touches my face and no amount of YouTube tutorials has helped Grin

I agree that it's just the people you are hanging around though. There's all sorts of men and women who like all sorts of men and women.

squoosh · 27/01/2014 15:23

Much better than her previous look.

Creamycoolerwithcream · 27/01/2014 15:24

Lj, I'm well jel!

1919 · 27/01/2014 15:24

Why care what men may think of the way a woman chooses to dress?

Lj8893 · 27/01/2014 15:25

Exactly squoosh I defy anyone on this thread that have labelled the towie look tacky (when she is one of the biggest towie stars) to say that Lucy mecklenburgh looks tacky, drag queen or the "state of that".

Lj8893 · 27/01/2014 15:26

Yeah I'm well jel too, she's totally reem babes.

squoosh · 27/01/2014 15:27

Moving onto the men's Towie look, those jeans are TIGHT, their balls must be overheating.

Creamycoolerwithcream · 27/01/2014 15:27

Don't mug me of!

Lj8893 · 27/01/2014 15:28

well jel of this look

Mrswellyboot · 27/01/2014 15:29

I think if its your thing it's your thing. My dh doesn't like that look but I do like make up and sometimes a bit of bling. I also like shaped brows (hd but ask for natural look) and tan. Recently my brother said I was wearing to much! So no, I think they don't.

I really think its true that women dress for women.

Most of the time I am in jeans, scruffy up do and eyeliner and am probably more into the individual look than high street.

squoosh · 27/01/2014 15:29

Oh no, Jessica looks about 50 there. She's a botox queen and she's only about 25.

Lj8893 · 27/01/2014 15:31

I happily style myself in the "towie look".

I'm just too lazy Grin

Creamycoolerwithcream · 27/01/2014 15:33

I think she looks beautiful.
