To think M&S really shouldnt sell bras

Just pootering online and saw this minimiser bra for sale.

Not only is it far too small for the model but it is padded!

What sort of idiot dreamed up a minimiser bra -worn expressly to make a large chest look smaller -and then added padding. Unbelievable .

Do you think they just photoshop different bras on various models so it ends up looking a bit off? That's what that looks like to me - nobody can actually look at that and say 'yes, that's how it should be', can they? HmmShockGrin

ExcuseTypos · 25/01/2014 20:26

Agree M and S are terrible at measuring. They advised me I was a 34DD and have been wearing that for many years.

After asking the ladies on here, I was told I should be a 30FF. That fits me perfectly.

My boobs have been transformedGrin

snugglesnook · 25/01/2014 20:32

That bra is a terrible fit, the middle bit is supposed to sit flat!

ilovepowerhoop · 25/01/2014 20:38

ffs terrible bra fitting

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/01/2014 20:40

Oh they can...M&S try to shove me in a 36f (I tested them) when I am a 30HH. It was AWFUL. It just sort of sat in my chest doing nothing

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/01/2014 20:41

That last one you posted is awful ilovepowerhoop.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 25/01/2014 20:51

Yabu m&s bras fit me well. I've not been measured by them or anyone for years. Just tried a selection on and buy the ones that fit. The central gore sits flat and no quadboob and half the price of bravissimo.

ChrisTheSheep · 25/01/2014 20:57

HoneyDragon, the final straw leading to my major surgery was a bra fitter laughing in my face and saying "I hope you don't expect to get a lot of choice in a size like that!". Admittedly, this was in Debenhams.

AnyFucker · 25/01/2014 21:02

Those M+S bra photos just seek to show as much of the model's tits as they can. I wonder why Hmm

Fairylea · 25/01/2014 21:04

Oh gosh some horrors there.... especially the Debenhams one in statisticallys list. So wrong in so many ways !

I'm not a big fan of the gorgeous range at Debenhams either to be honest. Other people seem to like them and I understand they tend to come up small in the band so I try on a few sizes around my size but they always just feel really uncomfortable- really stiff and the straps always dig in on me.

I actually went bra hunting yesterday. I tried debenhams, John lewis and a few others and ummmed and ahhhed over a couple of own brand ones as they were in the sale and seemed okay ish but in the end I put them back and went to bravissimo and spent £60 in there which hurt, at least I know they are going to last and be comfortable.

Fairylea · 25/01/2014 21:05

*but at least...

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/01/2014 21:06

I can't get on with Gorgeous bras either Fairylea. They seem to use the same cup shape for most of them and it's just all wrong for my norks!

Ps, hope your bravissimo one's don't hurt!

NearTheWindmill · 25/01/2014 21:06

I think M&S bras are really lovely; I've just never found one that fits properly. Having said that I've worn Triumph's Amourette for years and when I looked the other day in John Lewis because a couple are on their last legs - they have gone up to £34.00. I might just try a bit harder in M&S but am sure I'll end up back with Triumph. Not even an unusual size particularly - 34DD when I'm thin and 36D when I'm fat Shock.

CalamitouslyWrong · 25/01/2014 21:08

I wouldn't notice if M&S stopped selling bras, since they don't sell anything resembling my size.

AnyFucker · 25/01/2014 21:10

how interesting that M+S bras are now suddenly on my right hand ad strip on MN Smile

CiderBomb · 25/01/2014 21:11

M&S bras are crap. They measured me and told me I was a 36F, but it was horribly uncomfortable so I went to bravissimo instead and it turns out I'm actually a 32J.

derektheladyhamster · 25/01/2014 21:18

at least they sell my size (32D) Places like asda don't sell anything in less than a 34 band Sad

GwendolineMaryLacey · 25/01/2014 21:22

I've lived in m&s bras all my adult life. They sell non wired bras which are almost impossible to find anywhere else and they have my size. My only complaint is that the bigger sizes come in black, white and meh. No nice colours at all. That pisses me off.

TimeToPassGo · 25/01/2014 21:29

Their bras are bloody awful. They had me in the wrong size for years and stuck me in sports bras because they had nothing else. Whereas five mins in local indie dept store and the older lady who worked there found me a bra within mins that gave me the perky silhouette of an 18 year old.

mrspremise · 25/01/2014 21:30

M&S measured me as 42DD. So uncomfortable that I tried Bravissismo and was told 38GG. I will never shop in M&S again except the food hall Wink

TimeToPassGo · 25/01/2014 21:30

To clarify they had me in a 40e when I should have been in a 36F.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 25/01/2014 21:36

at least they sell my size (32D) Places like asda don't sell anything in less than a 34 band

I got a 30DD in Tesco the other day if that helps
