This has got to be the most annoying childrens programme ever, ever, ever made...aside from Justins house and possibly Gigglebiz..

mikeysmum27, and how come Josie Jump disappeared and then reappeared as a completely different person and none of her close personal friends ever commented ? It's a bit sinister, frankly (DH has a long and involved theory where Balamory is a caver for a sinister neopagan cult in the vein of The Wicker Man and Josie Jump was their first sacrifice, but he's probably overthinking it. Although Edie Macredie was actually in The Wicker Man as one of the naked revellers; can this be just a coincidence?

sasamaxx · 16/01/2014 20:43

Omg really? Lol.
Or maybe edie mccreadie was the body double ;)

Blueberry234 · 16/01/2014 20:44

Can just about cope with balamory, mr tumble on the other hand makes me physically recoil

SpicedGingerTea · 16/01/2014 20:46

Can't stand it either!

AmandinePoulain · 16/01/2014 20:47

Wasn't the original Josie Jump fired for her uhem...habits outside of work? Wink

Balamory is the lesser of lots of evils - Baby Jake and Barney are banned in our house. And what was the awful programme set in a garden with insects with human faces ?

Only1scoop · 16/01/2014 20:47

Dd wanted to listen theme tunes so I found on YouTube (or so I thought)....
A badly dubbed Plummy singing
"I'm PC Plum and I Take it up...."
Shock

Kaekae · 16/01/2014 20:48

My DS loved this four years ago, I absolutely hated it. The theme tune drove me potty. So glad my younger DD hasn't bothered with it.

TarkaTheOtter · 16/01/2014 20:53

Oh god "dirt girl world" amandine. Utter shite... and a bit sinister to boot.

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 16/01/2014 20:54

I thought the original Josie Jump got pregnant and left to have her baby?

Only1scoop · 16/01/2014 20:56

Thought the original JJump is now a fashion designer....sure I read it somewhere.

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 16/01/2014 20:59

At the time they said "Last night, BBC Scotland explained that Buki was too busy to film on Mull this year so they asked Kasia Haddad to fill in for her. Part-time actress Buki is studying for an Arts degree but she is set to don the yellow tracksuit again for the Balamory Christmas stage show"

Hmm... "too busy..." to do the only actual job you've got

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/01/2014 21:03

Thankfully my DC are too old for all this nonsense ( I get subjected to "GoodLuck Charlie. Victorius, Shake It Up, Jessie blah blah )

I almost miss:

Little Bear
Rubberdubbers
The Backyardigans
Bits and Bobs

And as for Barney..................when my DD was very new (as in days old) we took the 2.6yo toddler DS to Lakeside to see his Big Purple Hero live.
DS sat on DH shoulders, DD and I wandered round -she slept, I pushed the pram as fast as I could away from Barney without giving my new daughter windchill

appletarts · 16/01/2014 21:09

I heard a programme once on radio 4 all about prozac and depression and sarah jane off CBBs was on it talking about her journey with the above.

minesapintofwine · 16/01/2014 22:44

Tikkabilla, dirt girl world, same smile, giggle biz....all decidedly worse than balamory in my book. You need to switch over to Mickey mouse clubhouse then you will crave for balamory

MrsMook · 16/01/2014 23:21

I'll agree with Me Too for being exceptionally annoying. Fortunately it's now been about 9 months since I saw it, so the songs are begining to fade from auto loop in my head. The could get stuck for weeks my little sugar plum fairy.

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 16/01/2014 23:27

baby jake i don't mind because he's really really cute. Octonauts is fun. i used to like meg and mog... gigglebiz is CRAP. How much does he love cross-dressing?

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 16/01/2014 23:29

it took me literally years to realise that all pc plum actually does is harass everyone.

RedPencils · 16/01/2014 23:35

Cbeebies is the golden years. I long for the days of Pc Plum and Josie Jump.
Just wait till you get to Pokemon, Ben 10 and all that nonsense. It makes no sense at all.
And those bloody twins who go to school on a cruise ship. Ffs.

Kat3L · 16/01/2014 23:49

Has anyone else noticed how hairy Edie McCredie's arms are in the close up of her holding the steering wheel in the mini-bus? Perhaps she had a body double for that scene?!

I have a bit of a soft spot for Balamory mind and generally prefer live action shows to animation.

And yes, isn't Postman Pat useless. We watched some episode recently where he got an award for being such a great postman. I think there was definitely a mix up with the post that day, most likely of Pat's making, yet again!!

I've often find myself wondering what scale the PP sets are made to, I even Googled it a few months back but couldn't find an answer. I definitely need to get out more!

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 16/01/2014 23:54

postman pat has become ridiculous. helicopters, spouses... it used to be simple back when i were a lass.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 16/01/2014 23:54

Is fucking Balamory still on? Jesus. I remember going to Mull when Dd was little, got bus to Tobermory, every bloody child on board singing. The bus driver's knuckles were white and he had a tic by the time we got there.

TossedSaladsAndScrambledEggs · 16/01/2014 23:59

Worst programme by far is Carrie & David's pop shop. That woman!

Only1scoop · 17/01/2014 00:01

Ohwhat Grin

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 17/01/2014 00:07

i have a love/hate relationship with cbeebies.

TossedSaladsAndScrambledEggs · 17/01/2014 00:08

PC plum: "with my magnifying glass,
I can look straight up your ass between the grass"Wink
