They post daily about how much they love being a mummy to their ickle man/pwincess.

I counteract this by posting for sale adverts for the older DCs.

Only if you list your occupation as 'full time mummy' too. And possibly your education as 'hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry'.

Not referring to anyone in particular thenightisdark! It seems to be rife! Though I am pleased to say no one on my friends list has done it, thank god, I just see it on other people's stuff and on selling sites etc. It makes me twitch every time.

Thank GOD. I appreciate that as a non-child-owner I cannot comprehend how much you love your children but I do not feel the need to have my FB name as "Wyld ProudFiancée Chyld" or "Wyld CarDriver Chyld" or even "Wyld HumanBeing Chyld". GARGH

I feel uncomfortable posting about how much I love them. So if I mention them it's stupid shit they've done or said.

I've started commenting now when people post boak inducing statuses. They still do it. Example: I'm so proud of my brave little boy for getting his 11th tooth. Mummy loves you baby xxxxx

I'm not even thinking of anyone in particular this time - it seems to be an epidemic! I'm especially unappreciative of 'proudmummy' as a middle name if followed by a surname along the lines of SmithWasJonesWasTaylorWasEvans. I really doubt there are hordes of people searching in vain unless you list every possible variant of your name there could be (perhaps there are and I'm just not very popular...)

This makes me laugh and then cringe. I hate the women that have been engaged for 10 years who have a name like Stacey Smith stbJones. Cringe!

I do sometimes boast about my kids on FB. I think it's a bit sad when people only post about their kids doing something daft cause they don't want to boast.

They are funny little creatures and sometimes they do really cool things. It's totally ok to be proud of them.

(As long as we are talking actual achievements and not just growing another 2cm)

I just want to put my status as "I get that you love your kids. Now get off the internet and actually tell them that instead of making out you're parent of the year on Facebook"

Aahh, so pleased it's not just me!

My only recent FB post about twelve week old DD was expressing my delight that DH had managed to get every single pooey nappy for a week and a half!

Also, those same Jane "proudmummy" Bloggs who seem to spend all day online proclaiming how much they love their DC, and as soon as they get home from school it changes to moaning about how noisy/naughty/messy etc they are. Don't they realise they need to leave mummy alone so she can talk about them instead of to them?

Just do your blood pressure a huge favour and delete your FB account :)
