I get wound up by this as well, I never have the guts to comment though!

The most cringey thing that I've ever come across on my news feed was one lady- also a 'full time proud mummy'- who wrote something like: "DS has just managed to do a solid poo for the first time in days. He's had really loose bowel movements lately, I'm so proud of him that it's getting better".

I was a bit Hmm and Shock I mean each to their own and I'm sure it was a relief for her and all, but why would anyone else want to know this?!

Hopefully she just didn't realize the impact of her comment then. Not nice to think that someone could be that mean.

For what it's worth, I hate the ones that say something like "Being a mummy is the most important thing in the world, you never really know what love is until you've held your baby in your arms".. I'm ttc, thanks for telling me that I might never know how true love feels... Hmm but I'm sure the people who post that don't really think about the wider impacts either...

Love that STFU Parents blog, the responses she posts are so cutting, it makes me feel instantly better!!!

Cosy and INAWN she is actually quite pleasant and helpful IRL, and sadly part of that group of mummy friends you meet at baby group and who all meet up in a crowd so I can't get rid of her entirely.

She's been moved to that group of FB friends who doesn't get to see anything though (you know, where my mum and work colleagues are).

sirzy and others - we adopted DS and I do a fair amount of crafting. I do post pictures of my crafts on FB (I don't put "proudcrafter" in my username though you'll be happy to hear), and one "friend" commented twice on my crafts "oh, all I can make is beautiful babies"...

Much as I would love to "make" beautiful babies, she knows DS is adopted, and that's my photo, not hers.

Occasional posts aren't too bad but I've got one FB friend who should quite frankly work for Disney, such is the sugar-sweet power of her posting.

I just did a check, and the only one of my friends who has given themselves a middle name has used "Super Bitch". I'll let that one go.

I had a friend request from 'gavinsluvinmummee' and all the profile pics were of her son....how the hell am I supposed to know who this is? Declined friend request and bet her statuses would all be awful. Have one friend who is lovely but puts on posts like 'spent day with dp he really is love of my life so glad he came into my life and made me realise how wonderful love and life can be. Thank you baby fir being mine....xxxxx' then tags him (strangely he doesn't reply). I feel like commenting 'yes we know you have a boyfriend, well done!' I did suggest she say it to him as they live together and she got all defensive that it's normal to do this. Eh me and my other half don't we usually post funny pictures of cock flavoured soup mix or something as we're so not juvenile...snigger.

No don't worry proudmummy, I'll let you off, you can't use your real name on here. As long as you promise there's no hint of proudmummy in your fb name!

I have one of these on my Facebook, come to think of it only on my Facebook, she dropped me when I got PND and didn't want to go to meet her new mummy friends at mum and baby groups.

I have proudmummy on my username on this because simply I don't want anyone knowing my name is that not the point of usernames but Facebook I have my actual name as that's my personal page so is this thread also aimed at posters like me?? Just asking btw I'm not really bothered tho cause everyone has own opinions :)

Maybe they do this because a) they are bored and have nothing else to do all day (I'm not convinced that being a yummy mummy full time really requires much effort into anything other than clothes and make up) and b) their lives are shite.

I want to babysit and feed him bread.

I have a friend who is winding me up recently.

Several status updates a day about her amazing husband (who she is cheating on) and her perfect kids and how she can't wait to be a granny (she's 26!! Her stepdaughter is preggers at 15 so she won't be a granny it's just by marriage) it's starting to wind me up. There is absolutely no need to update 10-15 times a day about your amazing life and amazing husband etc. It's really annoying to us who know her well because we know it's absoloute shite and it's just attention seeking. It's the ones who comment and pander to her saying omg I'm so jel bbz u gt an amzin lyf u such a gd mum nd ur kids r d best. They are the ones she plays to and they haven't got a clue what goes on day to day. She also has her name then 'wassoandso' then her new surname. She is a full time yummy mummy (never ever had a job in her life) and lists endless 'disabilities' that she can't tell you anything about. We questioned her one day when she said she had severe arthritis and she will be in a wheelchair soon. An hour after that status she uploaded pics of her ice skating and having drinks in a bar. It's insulting to people who are disabled and it's quite sick actually.

This turned into a rant lol

I'm away to see what the proudmummys little angels have had for dinner Grin

I agree though if it's constant it can be annoying for some.

But to be honest I don't loiter on one individuals Facebook enough to know if they boast about their kids.

I do sigh though when someone with 5 kids is on Facebook all the time - goodness knows how they manage to look after them.

Perhaps the baby prepares it's own bottles, methinks?

It's tricky because I have some friends on there who are lovely and sensible in RL but seem to post the most inane ilovemykids shit on Facebook.

I do post if it's the dc's birthdays or they've had parents evening so family can see how they're doing. I like to think I'm fairly sane though and my posts are quite straightforward.

I used to post things on Facebook, but hardly ever now, I do post pictures of the kids which the family in other parts of the country and world can see.

My friend has got Princess as her middle name but is lovely and it doesn't bother me.

I'm nearly 17 weeks pregnant and I will not post about heartburn and what can I have to stop it, that's when I'll delete my Facebook, maybe some of you can come and be my friend and tell me off if I do ha ha.

This thread made me laugh out loud. surly no one can love their kids more than peter!

I am not guilty but have so many on fb that are.gives me the rage.

so now i hide them.

seems every ones had the best year in 2013 that,s great as mine was shite.

every parents evening end of term report reckon statistically impossible some must be lying.

one was so proud of her son for losing sports day its taking part that counts in counteracted with what a shame dd1 won year years race.

so much i love being a mummy, over posting pictures of their fave children or saying what fab weekend they having.
