To ask someone to shoot me if I ever feel the need to insert 'proudmummy' into my name on fb?

I had a friend request from 'gavinsluvinmummee' and all the profile pics were of her son....how the hell am I supposed to know who this is? Declined friend request and bet her statuses would all be awful. Have one friend who is lovely but puts on posts like 'spent day with dp he really is love of my life so glad he came into my life and made me realise how wonderful love and life can be. Thank you baby fir being mine....xxxxx' then tags him (strangely he doesn't reply). I feel like commenting 'yes we know you have a boyfriend, well done!' I did suggest she say it to him as they live together and she got all defensive that it's normal to do this. Eh me and my other half don't we usually post funny pictures of cock flavoured soup mix or something as we're so not juvenile...snigger.

I just did a check, and the only one of my friends who has given themselves a middle name has used "Super Bitch". I'll let that one go.

Love it when people set up profiles for their pets....Smile

Occasional posts aren't too bad but I've got one FB friend who should quite frankly work for Disney, such is the sugar-sweet power of her posting.

sirzy and others - we adopted DS and I do a fair amount of crafting. I do post pictures of my crafts on FB (I don't put "proudcrafter" in my username though you'll be happy to hear), and one "friend" commented twice on my crafts "oh, all I can make is beautiful babies"...

Much as I would love to "make" beautiful babies, she knows DS is adopted, and that's my photo, not hers.

Ugh, that is boak.

I am a proud mummy, just dont need to tell everyone i am, only who needs to know is DD.

Oh and my friend has made a FB for her cat, yes shes slightly crazy.

drspouse Shock your 'friend' sounds delightful... Not!

You should all visit STFU Parents

There are some real gems on there! Scroll down the categories on the left for a really good laugh!

CosyTeaBags · 13/01/2014 11:01

Drspouse your friend's comment is actually really nasty, what a bitch!

drspouse · 13/01/2014 11:03

Cosy and INAWN she is actually quite pleasant and helpful IRL, and sadly part of that group of mummy friends you meet at baby group and who all meet up in a crowd so I can't get rid of her entirely.

She's been moved to that group of FB friends who doesn't get to see anything though (you know, where my mum and work colleagues are).

CosyTeaBags · 13/01/2014 11:18

Hopefully she just didn't realize the impact of her comment then. Not nice to think that someone could be that mean.

For what it's worth, I hate the ones that say something like "Being a mummy is the most important thing in the world, you never really know what love is until you've held your baby in your arms".. I'm ttc, thanks for telling me that I might never know how true love feels... Hmm but I'm sure the people who post that don't really think about the wider impacts either...

Love that STFU Parents blog, the responses she posts are so cutting, it makes me feel instantly better!!!

I get wound up by this as well, I never have the guts to comment though!

The most cringey thing that I've ever come across on my news feed was one lady- also a 'full time proud mummy'- who wrote something like: "DS has just managed to do a solid poo for the first time in days. He's had really loose bowel movements lately, I'm so proud of him that it's getting better".

I was a bit Hmm and Shock I mean each to their own and I'm sure it was a relief for her and all, but why would anyone else want to know this?!
