to want to throw shit at this woman?

BunnyLebowski · 09/01/2014 16:26

Got your attention? Good. Obviously I don't really plan to throw poo at her.

We live opposite a small green that we used to walk across on the school run.

Recently it has been covered in dog turds Hmm.

Just now from my bedroom window I saw a woman come out of her house directly across from me (the green is between us iyswim) with a fat labrador not on a lead who then proceeded to crap in two different spots on the green while she looked on.

She then called it over and they went back in the house Angry

The green is used by kids after school and by families waiting for buses.

I appreciate this is a one off and I can't know for sure that her dog is responsible for all the shits but why the hell should she be allowed to use a public area as a dog toilet?

If I see her do the same again I am going to confront her. Is that unreasonable of me? Surely not.

Blue, yes I have been to a dairy recently. My brother runs a dairy farm while he is waiting to take over parents farm Yes, fresh cow pats aren't very nice but still nowhere as bad as dog shit. Anyway, mostly the cow pats stay on the farm though don't they, even in the country it would be quite unusual to find cow pats outside your front door.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 21:17

Blue, did I say that I spend 99% of my time stepping in dog shit? No doubt you have dogs and look after them well and pick up after them all the time - they'll still be banned when I take over the world though Grin

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 21:30

I don't have any dogs. I'm not a dog lover. I'm just pointing out the ridiculousness of your posts.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 11/01/2014 21:35

Lester let us then hope you never do take over the world.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 21:45

Zombies probably best if I don't take over the world. A few (in fact more than a few) things might be banned.

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 21:46

Lester re-read did I say you spent 99% of your time stepping in dog shit or did the 99% relate to responsible ownership in my area?

The cow pats weren't outside my door either but they were on a pathway.

Unforunately for you Lester we live in a democracy and I for one will be ensuring you never take over as will the many thousand other dog owners in the country Smile how many over the whole world?

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 21:54

Sorry blue, I got your 99% and your all your time mixed up. I should have asked you where I had said that I spend all my time stepping in dog shit.

I wouldn't be too sure that dogs won't ever be banned from public places. Maybe not this year or next but if enough of us dog shit objectors make enough of a fuss it could happen.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 22:00

Most people don't object to dogs. They object to dog shit in public places.

Really not hard to separate the two.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 22:14

Hester, I think the problem is that they are too easily separated Grin getting rid of dogs from public places would also get rid of the dog shit problem.

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 22:14

I love dogs - I hate dog shit in public places and have in fact been known to get VERY annoyed about it.

I dont blame the dog thought it is TOTALLY down to bad lazy ownership and we are seeing a lot of that these days, mainly with regard to training and socialisation. So many people are getting dogs when they are out at work all day and dont have the time to walk and train them properly - I guess that is even more of a problem if you are living in a town.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 22:16

But I like dogs. They're ok. They run around being fun and barking at seagulls. They amuse me. I don't want them banned!

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 22:17

There are too many though. Puppy breeding farms should be banned, if you want to ban something.

Rosieliveson · 11/01/2014 22:24

Was going to say what coffeeinbed said. I don't have a dog but always offer a happy sack from my changing bag.

pennsylvania65000 · 11/01/2014 22:25

I agree with previous post. Bitches do squat to wee aswell and my wolf is always mistaken for doing a crap when infact this really isn't the case.

Rosieliveson · 11/01/2014 22:26

Happy sack?!!! Blush I mean nappy sack.

You could anonymously post a nah of nappy sacks through the door with a post it 'for the dog doo'. It's non confrontational but let's her know it's been noticed.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 22:27

Seems that we have a consensus. Everyone hates dog shit, even the dog owners. Solution = ban dogs from public places.

pennsylvania65000 · 11/01/2014 22:28

wooh steady on there old chap.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 22:32

That's not a consensus. That's just you saying that.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 22:36

Why steady on? A lot of people are very fed up with dog shit everywhere. Its not just on pavements its everywhere. Other posters have complained about their children getting covered in it at the park, and others about dog owners letting their dogs shit outside schools. Why shouldn't people have the right to enjoy public spaces free from the misery of dog shit? If you want to have a dog keep it in your house/garden/other land that you own. No need to inflict it on the rest of us.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 22:44

Hester, you are inconsistent. You say you're not a dog lover than minutes later you say you like dogs. I think there is a consensus that everyone hates dog shit in public places. Not sure why you think there isn't?

I'm sure there are lots of MNers who don't agree with me that dogs should be banned from public places but I'm also sure that there are plenty of people in this country who would support my views.

pennsylvania65000 · 11/01/2014 22:50

You can't ban dogs from public places unless you make facilities for dogs to go like in the States. I'm all for Dog Parks. Also I think dog mess is out of control too. Maybe every street should have a dog-crap warden that follows said offender home and contacts Police.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 22:57

Good idea Pennsylvania. I'd be good at that job!

Prettykitty111 · 11/01/2014 23:20

Lester actually tramps are reeeeaaallllllly unpleasant if you step on them. The dont like it AT ALL!
Hester why should my dog not be allowed in public places when he is well trained and I pick up every poo hes ever done just because of some other moron. If that's the new rule I would like to ban all children from resturants because one kicked my chair alot and runined my meal a while back. I would like to ban all old people from leaving the house because one fell over in front of me and I was late to a meeting helping them. I would like to ban all taxi drivers because one ripped me off. Shall I go on? You can't punish the majority for the minority but you can put poo through the minorities front door (my mums done it loads its easy)!

Pretty
You seem to think that dogs should have the same status and rights in society as people. You can't ban children, old people, taxi drivers from public spaces in general because they are human. Dogs, on the other hand are not human, and could easily be banned from public spaces.

The argument about the majority suffering because of the minority just doesn't hold up. Lots of things have been banned from or in public spaces because of the behaviour of the minority. Guns, smoking, speeding cars, parking in certain places.

If I knew which filthy bastards let their dogs shit on the pavement in my street I would do something about it but really why should I have to.
