to want to throw shit at this woman?

BunnyLebowski · 09/01/2014 16:26

Got your attention? Good. Obviously I don't really plan to throw poo at her.

We live opposite a small green that we used to walk across on the school run.

Recently it has been covered in dog turds Hmm.

Just now from my bedroom window I saw a woman come out of her house directly across from me (the green is between us iyswim) with a fat labrador not on a lead who then proceeded to crap in two different spots on the green while she looked on.

She then called it over and they went back in the house Angry

The green is used by kids after school and by families waiting for buses.

I appreciate this is a one off and I can't know for sure that her dog is responsible for all the shits but why the hell should she be allowed to use a public area as a dog toilet?

If I see her do the same again I am going to confront her. Is that unreasonable of me? Surely not.

I agree with Hester and Fryone. We've had this and it is disgusting.

We live a stone's throw from a park, so any dog owner could walk to or back to the park and use a special dog crap bin in just over a minute. But no, chuck it in my (unlined) bin to fester. Better yet, don't even bother tying the bag up, so it spills out everywhere. Or just chuck it in the front yard for the kids to walk in on the way out of the house.

Clearly, objecting is my problem, heaven forbid the hard core of bastard dog owners should have to take responsibility. These are people who obviously don't want the shite anywhere near their own homes, but are happy to leave it right outside mine.

BunnyLebowski · 10/01/2014 11:47

Update

I reported her. The guy I spoke to has taken all the details and is passing them to their enforcement team.

They'll call me to let me know what they're going to do. He mentioned them giving her a visit.

She did it again this morning - on the grass verge outside her house Angry Angry .

Good for you!

MrsPnut · 10/01/2014 11:53

If you are willing to appear as a witness if it needs to go to court then our council can give a fixed penalty notice on the evidence of a member of the public. You do need to see the dog poo, see the owner walk away and leave it and know their name and address but it does stop the need for the dog warden to actually see it happen.

DownstairsMixUp · 10/01/2014 11:55

Good for you Bunny Hope it teaches her a lesson, lazy mare!

HesterShaw · 10/01/2014 12:02

Well done Bunny. Fine and shame!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 10/01/2014 12:10

This a big problem around my way to. Do dog owners not realise it is against the law (in scotland at least) to not pick up.

It is so fecking selfish and minging.

For any Scots the government are currently looking at things like compulsory dog licenses if you want to comment on the consultation.

If you are unwilling to pick up your dogs shit you should not have a dog

allmycats · 10/01/2014 12:11

Good work reporting her, love your post saying that 'she' did it on the grass verge today !!

RobinSparkles · 10/01/2014 12:25

Good! Glad you reported her!

This sort of thing really boils my piss. Dirty fucker! And yes, I am swearing. I don't care if "MN has gone down the pan", if you don't like it then go to Bounty!

I hate it when people leave their dog's shit. I hardly let my children walk on grass anymore, I tell them to stick to the path as I'll bet that as soon as they run on the grass they'll stand in something. It makes me cringe!

evelynj · 10/01/2014 13:30

You definitely should not use someone else's bin without their permission. It's rude. And yes I do expect you to carry it miles home unless you've asked permission. Just because you don't see it as taking liberties doesn't mean it isn't.

Lift your dog poo & take it to a public poo bin or home.

I love the idea of knocking on & returning her poo. You could say 'I saw you left these on the green earlier & thought you must've ran out of poo bags. Thought I'd save you the bother of going back for them when you get some'

persimmon · 10/01/2014 13:33

If I had magical powers I would cast a spell which meant that dog poo not picked up would vanish and reappear on the owner's pillow. Every time.

42andcounting · 11/01/2014 18:44

^^ what Evelyn said!!

Some vile person has taken to dropping their bagged dog poo in our recycling bin at the kerb side just after it's emptied on bin day. I'm pretty sure they don't believe it's recyclable, and I don't really think it's my responsibility to hang around waiting for the collection then run out to take the bin in to stop them doing it. They are just cheeky bastards who seem to think that as long as they've bagged it, it's ok to drop it where they like.

If I wanted to handle dog poo I would have a dog!

VivaLeBeaver · 11/01/2014 18:46

Next time you see this film her. Dog wardens will warn her for this on your word but they're unlikely to prosecute without evidence. A neighbour got someone doing this outside her house on her CCTV and they used the footage and prosecuted.

VivaLeBeaver · 11/01/2014 18:49

Seen your update that she's done it again.

If she carries on I'd put Marigolds on and pick the poo up and shove it unbagged through her letter box. I truly would. Hate dog shit with a passion and I have a dog. I pick up after mine and am fed up with shit been every 5yards on the pavement.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 18:57

We're in the process of buying a house, which has been empty for a year after the old gentleman died. I recently went to see it again to make some final plans for furniture and so on, and found someone has been allowing their dog to crap all over the garden. Not quite sure what to do, to be honest....

Sorry for hijack, but I figured that we have a perfectly good dog shit thread going already :o

madmomma · 11/01/2014 19:02

Dog wardens are generally brilliant OP. Definitely worth gettingin touch with yours.
There are just no words to describe how angry this makes me.
I seriously fear I would completely lose it and end up in prison if I ever catch the person who lets their dog shit at the bottom of my path.

AmIthatWintry · 11/01/2014 19:03

Wow. Filthy, filthy, filthy, filthy bitch. Only on Mn could we find someone doing catsbum face over the use of the word bitch.

Letting your dog crap and not clearing up is one of the most anti-social acts you can do/

Bag it up and dump it on her doorstep

Idespair · 11/01/2014 19:11

Glad you reported. I don't know how so many people get away with leaving dog turd around. Someone let their dog shit in my front garden on 7 consecutive days. People don't care about other people it would seem. I don't go to public parks for this reason.

CassCade · 11/01/2014 19:33

You might like this jackanory break, but my Dad once had a problem with a man who regularly walked his dog past my parent's house at the same time every morning, and always allowed his dog to poo on the grass edge of my parents' rockery. Dog-man would stand and sort of hide behind a tree while the dog did it. This was in the 80's (you knew, the rockery gives it away) and at this time no-one in their right mind would ever have picked up their dog's poo anyway.

One day my dad waited for him at the usual time, then while the dog was crapping, Dad ran out and said very politely, "Oh, excuse me, but where do you live?"
Dog-man warily replies, "Why do you ask?"
Dad replies calmly, "So I can come and crap in your front garden tomorrow morning."
Dog-man very apologetic, never did it again.
You could try something like that?! ;)

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 20:06

This is one of the main reasons why all dogs except working dogs should be banned. Absolutely disgusting. And before all the dog apologists start, I think people are a lot more important than dogs. In my view the right not to have to put up with stinky shitting dogs trumps anyone's right to own a dog. No doubt lots of you will start on about how poor old ladies will be lost without their dogs etc etc - but I am so so over the mess which appears on a daily basis in my street.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 20:15

Arf at "banning" an animal. I'm not a fan of fog shit, but that's possibly the silliest thing I've ever read.

Musicaltheatremum · 11/01/2014 20:15

CassCade love it.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 20:16

Dog, not fog. Clearly :o

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 20:22

Is there a notice anywhere saying what the fine is for not picking up? If there was Id be tempted to photograph it and put it through her letterbox with info regarding toxicara too (because id guess someone this lazy isnt worming either)

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 20:25

LOL at CassCades Dad - good for him

Hmm at Lester - do we ban cats too? As its OK to let them crap over anyones garden.
