to want to throw shit at this woman?

BunnyLebowski · 09/01/2014 16:26

Got your attention? Good. Obviously I don't really plan to throw poo at her.

We live opposite a small green that we used to walk across on the school run.

Recently it has been covered in dog turds Hmm.

Just now from my bedroom window I saw a woman come out of her house directly across from me (the green is between us iyswim) with a fat labrador not on a lead who then proceeded to crap in two different spots on the green while she looked on.

She then called it over and they went back in the house Angry

The green is used by kids after school and by families waiting for buses.

I appreciate this is a one off and I can't know for sure that her dog is responsible for all the shits but why the hell should she be allowed to use a public area as a dog toilet?

If I see her do the same again I am going to confront her. Is that unreasonable of me? Surely not.

Nooooo! For the actual love of God, don't bring cats and gardens into the equation. The shit...har har har....really will hit the fan! The thread will go wild.

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 20:30

Sorry Hester, I only dip in an out of MN - it it a bit of a "disabled parking" type trigger subject?

I was trying to say I thought that was a dumb idea without being too scathing.

Lets face it the dogs in Lester's area are only leaving their crap behind because their human owners arent picking it up.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 20:35

Blue I agree that it is the humans who are the problem because they don't pick up after their dogs, but there are just so many bad dog owners out there. But why should I have to put up with shit all over pavement outside my house? Easiest way to stop the problem of bad dog owners and bad dogs is to make it a criminal offence to own one unless it is a working dog = banned Smile

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 20:36

Threads involving cats and gardens have to be seen to be believed. The last one was jaw dropping in its mentalness...people advocating harm to animals abd so on. And laughing about it. Some proper WUMs.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 20:38

Or enforce existing rules?

Suddenly banning pet dogs would not be easy at all and it would break people's hearts up and down the country.

Which you must already know obviously Hmm

hollyisalovelyname · 11/01/2014 20:40

I know how you feel. I live near a lovely pier walk. But you have to watch your step! Despite notices saying dogs should be on leads and owners should pick up their dog's poo. Nothing is enforced. It makes me really mad .

Bettercallsaul1 · 11/01/2014 20:40

Seriously, what is wrong with a bit of dog poo? You can dig it into the garden and it enriches the soil - it is one of nature's fertilisers. Perhaps you should thank the dog owner for the free gift?

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 20:41

Blue, maybe cats that are allowed out should be banned too. If you want to keep a cat in your house that's your problem (not you in particular obv) but should be a criminal offence to let cats out. Isn't this the case in Australia? Or some parts of it anyways.

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 20:42

Lester in our area there is a £1000 fine if you dont pick up after your dog - honestly if you feel that strongly about it you should be getting evidence and ensuring people are prosecuted.

It isnt a problem at all here and there is a fairly hefty dog presence locally - you much just have a lot of smeggy neighbours or some consisten repeat offenders (who feed their dog cheap food)

Hester....backing away from the whole cat thing Grin

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 20:43

Wondering if I should advocate banning children as they leave cans and bottles on my grass, graffiti the fences and put wrappers in the hedges Grin place would be way tider without them

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 20:45

They are dogs - why would anyone be heartbroken? I just don't get some people's obsession with their pets - they are animals ffs. No doubt there are lots of dog owners who think their dogs are more important than humans but I have really had enough of the mess all over the city I live in. No dogs would mean a much nicer environment for the humans who live here.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 20:47

I have reported and reported to the dog wardens. Believe me when I say that if I ever catch anyone not picking up after their dog I will be posting the shit left behind through their door (possibly without a bag)

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 20:51

The problem with threads like this, is that they attract people who post deliberately provocative and insane statements, and then they're derailed.

You don't understand who would be heartbroken if dogs were suddenly banned? Really?

Okaaaaaaay.

HesterShaw · 11/01/2014 20:55

And to be quite honest there are a significant number of people who prefer animals to people, with bloody good reason.

Considering this was a thread which was pretty much unanimous in saying that yes, dog owners who let their pets shit everywhere are disgusting, and should be caught and fined....

It only takes one I guess.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 20:57

No I really don't know why people would be heartbroken. A bit upset maybe but heartbroken? Not quite the same as losing a loved child, partner, parent is it? I am baffled at the attitudes towards eg dogs yet people couldn't care less that the chicken they are eating lived in the most horrible surroundings or that the cheap bacon they are eating came from a pig that lived in a tiny pen with a concrete floor. Is it because people think dogs are cute or something?

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 20:57

The thing is Lester I cant bear cats but I know lots of people love them so whilst I am the queen of the sick cat joke I wouldnt dream of suggesting in seriousness that they are banned.

There are loads of things I hate that other people love, some of them e.g. motobikes, inconvenience and annoy me but to suggest a blanket ban on something just because I didnt like it would be a tad on the unreasonable side.

I suggest you keep hounding Grin your dog wardens and find out exactly what they are paid to do.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 20:59

Hester, if you have a dog or two I'm guessing that you pick up the mess they make but really cities would be much cleaner places if there were no dogs.

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 21:02

Hester - In a house heavy on the male side my dog gives me a lovely comforting nuzzle as she can sense if I am stressed or unhappy

She has been known to wake me up in the night if she is not happy with how I am breathing (although I have to confess to not being delighted by that at at the time)

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 21:03

I don't hate dogs - indifferent if anything. I grew up on a farm so maybe it's just that I have a less anthromophoric (sp?) view of animals than most. There is something vile about dog shit (and probably cat shit) though when compared to that of farm animals.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 21:04

Last post was for Hester

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 21:04

Cities would also be cleaner without, vehicles, tramps, fast food restaurants - do we get rid of all of them too? Oh yes and smokers and their packets and stub ends.

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 21:08

Lester have you been to a dairy recently - I grew up in the country too, surround by the smell of cow shit and trust me the visit we had to a milking parlour in recent years was disgusting it just doesnt smell the same any more.. I guess as a result of the what the cows eat.

I can also confirm, as the disgusted recipient of many a childhood yellow green fly infested cow pat on my trainer that there is nothing any less vile about it...in fact ive never stepped into a dog shit which encompassed my entire foot and ankle.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 21:11

Blue, i hear what your saying but vehicles, tramps, restaurants, cigarette packets and stubs aren't quite as unpleasant as dog shit when you step on them.

LesterBurnam · 11/01/2014 21:11

You're, not your!

BlueSkySunnyDay · 11/01/2014 21:14

I think we will have to agree to disagree Lester - why do you spend all your time treading in dog shit...I cannot remember the last time I did.

Perhaps you need to move somewhere where the other inhabitants are not so smeggy...99% of ours clean up after their hounds.
