Or something equally addictive.

I've just eaten most a bit of tiger french stick. I can't stop. Filled with Asda chicken tikka sandwich filling stop judging

I can't stop. What is it? No other bread leaves me this way.

I suspect it must be.

And now I am going to have to go to the bakery. Damn you.

trashcanjunkie · 07/01/2014 14:44

well, I did hear on a science type program that bread (details have leaked immediately from my brain) when digested down into it's component parts, hits the brain with more addictive force than heroin - peptides and dopamine were mentioned. I expect somebody cleverer to find some actual facts they can link to. Plus it's got real tigers in, obvs Grin

loveliesbleeding1 · 07/01/2014 14:45

Just had 2 massive slices myself, on auto-pilot.I don't know why I buy it, I know it does this to me.

CosyTeaBags · 07/01/2014 14:46

Have you tried the salt & pepper bread from Tescos? Similar to Tiger bread, but with a subtle peppery kick, or a hint of salt in every bite...

Mmmmmm.

Buzzardbird · 07/01/2014 14:46

Yes it is...Chinny reckon

MinesAPintOfTea · 07/01/2014 14:52

Try baking your own soft white bread. I have been known to eat a whole 2lb loaf in a morning.

AngelaDaviesHair · 07/01/2014 14:55

I'm like that with my mother's homemade bread. She tends now to stand casually between me and the bread bin when I'm in her kitchen.

littleredsquirrel · 07/01/2014 14:56

The salt and pepper tiger bread is like superheroin.

The loaf often doesn't make it back from Tescos.

dingit · 07/01/2014 14:56

Did you know Sainsburys renamed their a Tiger Bread to giraffe bread, because a little girl wrote in and said it looked more like giraffe markings. True fact.

littleredsquirrel · 07/01/2014 14:57

The letter has been doing the rounds on Facebook, its lovely.

ForTheLoveOfSocks · 07/01/2014 15:06

My dad reckons I can smell fresh tiger bread from a mile off. I always manage to get to it before he does. And I don't even live with my parents. I haven't for years Grin

YANBU
Tiger bread is for sure like crack.
If tiger bread is wrong, then I don't wanna be right Grin

MTBMummy · 07/01/2014 15:12

YY to homemade bread - I occasionally make a Parmesan and sun dried tomato loaf (from a packet - don't judge me) and as soon as it's out I eat the entire thing with salted butter

and I normally hate bread

candycoatedwaterdrops · 07/01/2014 15:14

I've never had tiger bread. Am I missing something?

RawCoconutMacaroon · 07/01/2014 15:18

Well actually bread (wheat flour) does contain addictive opiate substances (you may well say heroin!) Shock. They have put people in MRI scanners and given them bread to eat and the addiction centres in the brain light up like a Christmas tree!

Back in the days when I used to eat wheat, tiger bread was right up at the top of my "must eat" list, I could do most of a weekend special "family" giant tiger loaf all by myself Blush I think the toasted Sesame oil give it a special edge!!!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/01/2014 15:23

MTB we use that bread mix for pizza bases.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/01/2014 15:23

Tiger loaf.

Starballbunny · 07/01/2014 15:24

I think tiger/giraffe (it is a better name) bread is slightly saltier than a lot of modern bread.

I wonder if that's part of the problem? I'm not a huge bread eater, but I find all other salty snacks terribly addictive.

dexter73 · 07/01/2014 15:29

Tiger bread is horrible. That weird crust tastes revolting and is a strange greasy texture. And yes it is far too salty. Bleurgh!

gaggiagirl · 07/01/2014 15:30

I don't buy tiger bread very often. Only because if I did buy it as much as I fancied eating it I would be so fat that the fire brigade would have to come and cut me out of my actual house.

Can you believe I'm only a 4 minute walk from a fresh tiger bread? Arrrrrrggghhh I want some now.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 07/01/2014 15:38

I occasionally make a Parmesan and sun dried tomato loaf (from a packet - don't judge me) and as soon as it's out I eat the entire thing with salted butter

Sounds AMAZING! I'll be over in a few, yes?!

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2014 15:38

It gives my DH the squits so very possibly.

Hermionewastherealhero · 07/01/2014 15:41

I make myself huge tiger bread sandwiches with loads of cheese in for work, I look forward to them all morning. I face I had tiger bread sandwiches twice yesterday and will have them twice today. I luvs them!

DameDeepRedBetty · 07/01/2014 15:47

I don't like it. Give me a Gregg's Small Cobb loaf though, the one that's dusted with flour, and I guarantee that will not last until the children get home from school.

ElizabethBathory · 07/01/2014 15:50

Buzzardbird Grin Grin I haven't heard that for ages!
