Or something equally addictive.

I've just eaten most a bit of tiger french stick. I can't stop. Filled with Asda chicken tikka sandwich filling stop judging

I can't stop. What is it? No other bread leaves me this way.

What IS Tiger Bread? Is it not just a basic unsliced white loaf with a funny looking crust?

Santabroughtmethis · 07/01/2014 17:22

It was a baguette.

It's nearly gone Shock

I now have a tiger bread baby on board.

I now want some tiger bread more than I've ever wanted anything in my whole life.

TheSmallPrint · 07/01/2014 17:39

Tiger bread is the most delicious of all crusty loaves.

TheSmallPrint · 07/01/2014 17:40

I'm the same with asda's onion loaf
Its lovely smothered in proper butter or dipped in heinz tomato soup

notso · 07/01/2014 18:14

I don't get the appeal.
It's just horrible doughy supermarket bread with a funny looking and tasting crust.

It is impossible to get nice bread now.

littleredsquirrel · 07/01/2014 18:16

This has just made me eat three thick slices with butter Blush

spiderlight · 07/01/2014 18:33

MIL had a family-sized tiger loaf left over when we went down after Christmas and was going away for New Year, so she gave it to me to take home. DS and I ate the entire thing in the back of the car, ripping chunks off it like starving animals.

Has to be Tesco or Morrisons though. Sainsbury's Giraffe Bread doesn't have the kick. The Tesco tiger rolls are the best.

dexter73 · 07/01/2014 18:34

notso - get a bread maker. I have had one for over 10 years now and the bread is so delicious. Supermarket bread tastes vile after you have made your own.

HRHLadyFarquhar · 07/01/2014 18:38

Tell you what I miss. Safeway. They did lovely loaves of white rye bread and granary bread...

Sad
HungryHorace · 07/01/2014 18:45

I'm drooling reading this thread now...bloody love tiger / giraffe bread!

WelshMaenad · 07/01/2014 18:53

CosyTeaBags I LOVE the salt and pepper baguette from Tesco!

DH calls it 'crack bread'.

ohhhhpieceofcandy · 07/01/2014 19:02

Pigsmummy · 07/01/2014 19:04

Yabvu. I want some now!!!!!!!

ElizabethBathory · 07/01/2014 19:10

Dexter my breadmaker makes really heavy loaves akin to dwarf bread. I thought they all did - is mine just rubbish?

Thisvehicleisreversing · 07/01/2014 19:11

I first discovered tiger bread when a big new tesco opened close to me. A neighbour worked there and before they opened the store they were getting the bread ovens working properly so were baking tonnes of tiger loaves.

My neighbour dropped 1 off to me every day for a week. Right there is where my addiction started. Grin

I love that neighbour.

scottishmummy · 07/01/2014 19:15

Tiger bread is yum, makes great French toast

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/01/2014 19:18

I thought all white bread was addictive, something to do with the sugar rush it gives you - I'm sure BIWI would know :-)

WhenWhyWhere · 07/01/2014 19:18

Waitrose tiger loaf is crap and I have tried and tried ...

Tescos is delicious.

RuinedAndNotorious · 07/01/2014 19:26

I see your tiger bread, and I raise you Co-op jalapeno and cheddar bread. Now that's crack.

twattock · 07/01/2014 19:30

You can make your own if you bake bread, you slather a thick layer of a paste made of yeast Sesame oil water and rice flour on when it's proved and sprinkle on Malden salt and grind a bit of pepper on top. recipe on Delia on line.

WaitingForMe · 07/01/2014 19:33

It tastes really odd to me. There's definitely something in it.

I made a couple of loaves of soda bread for tea/DSs breakfasts and we ate 60% of one. Not sure that cutting processed food is going to be that much healthier if I keep eating like that!
