Or something equally addictive.

I've just eaten most a bit of tiger french stick. I can't stop. Filled with Asda chicken tikka sandwich filling stop judging

I can't stop. What is it? No other bread leaves me this way.

OP posts:

It could well be OP. It's the kind of thing that i deliberately don't buy because I can't leave it alone.

You probably want to stay away from the Lidl instore bakery because their ciabatta is the nicest bread I've ever tasted and I once ate 90% of one for elevenses sliced and buttered with a variety of other toppings on the different slices (jam, pate, cream cheese etc).

Their cheesy twist pastries are pretty damn good too. Its a good job that I have almost all the other supermarkets closer to me than Lidl or I would be the size of two houses might be worth it though.

ElizabethBathory · 07/01/2014 15:51

Tescos tiger bread rolls fill the whole house with the most amazing smell. Better than any scented candle I've found!

greenfolder · 07/01/2014 15:54

on friday i bought a massive tiger loaf from tesco. me and dh had eaten it all by staurday lunch.

RescueCack · 07/01/2014 15:54

If you have a leaky gut wall, complex carbs and sugars have an opiate-like effect on your blood. Genuinely addicting.

StickyProblem · 07/01/2014 15:55

I had a tiger baguette thing at lunchtime BUT it's OK because I had it with Gwyneth Paltrow's detox walnut and lentil paté so it's dead healthy :)

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 07/01/2014 16:00

Mmmm, Tiger Bread.

It does send ds2's blood sugar into orbit faster than a packet of haribo though.

MrsSippie · 07/01/2014 16:00

today's bread has fat injected into it which makes you have that horrible bloated feeling and all sorts of yuck stuff :(

mrspremise · 07/01/2014 16:03

My car smells of Tiger Bread because I bought some at lunchtime to take home for supper. Smile

phantomnamechanger · 07/01/2014 16:06

it's got sesame oil in it and the cracked crust is made from rice paste.

tis lovely! ( and the reply from the sainsburys manager to the little girl who wrote about it looking like giraffe bread was absolutely lovely )

slimyak · 07/01/2014 16:11

I love bread - tiger, giraffe, monkey bread for all I care! Although OP, I'm with you on Asda Tiger bread, definitely a superior product to other super markets. I have decided to stop supporting this addictive trade as a New Year Resolution. I'm home cooking and will hopefully have a satifying but less intense relationship with my carbs from now on.

ophiotaurus · 07/01/2014 16:12

I want some now!

Itstartshere · 07/01/2014 16:20

Sob. I'm a Low carber.

I miss a Tiger Bread.

edwinbear · 07/01/2014 16:24

Massive wedge of tiger bread, dunked into Heinz cream of tomato soup. The simple pleasures in life.

BuntyPenfold · 07/01/2014 16:25

I've always thought it smells terrible and wondered what is in it.

LittleMissRedSparklyBaubles · 07/01/2014 16:27

Love tiger bread, laced with real butter. If I buy it to go with pasta or something it is always gone before mealtime. It is salty doughy goodness.

Curlyweasel · 07/01/2014 16:28

Asda tiger tail is simply acers with Tesco caramelised onion humous. Pain in the arse to do the shop mind, but oh so worth it. I have an arse like a barn door 'cos of it/them and the fact that I'm 6 month's preggers and a greedy fat bugger.

struggling100 · 07/01/2014 16:29

I have never had tiger bread! I am slightly wary of trying it after reading this thread. I might never stop eating again... Smile

CynicalandSmug · 07/01/2014 16:30

Yuk, hate bread. I have never even heard of tiger bread!

Writerwannabe83 · 07/01/2014 16:31

I bloody love tiger bread - I eat ridiculous amounts of the stuff!! Grin

RalphGnu · 07/01/2014 16:33

I now want some tiger bread more than I've ever wanted anything in my whole life.

CosyTeaBags · 07/01/2014 16:34

Go on Cynical and struggling .. just try one little bite...

It is particularly lovely slathered in butter and dunked into home made, hearty soup of some sort - thus solving the guilt as we all know home made soup cancels out the unhealthiness.

GotMyGoat · 07/01/2014 16:36

I asked once in store what they glazed the tiger bread with - the baker didn't know, so think it is top secret.

StripyPenguin · 07/01/2014 16:38

It's usually sesame oil and rice paste. I better not get sacked for telling the secret! ;

scampadoodle · 07/01/2014 16:52

I really think this thread should be read in tandem with the 'Why aren't French women fat?' one. Bonsoir will be turning in her navy pumps... Grin

SaucyJack · 07/01/2014 16:58

It used to be.

Tesco tiger bread these days is a sad, pale imitation of the glory days of old.

I remember you used to be able to choose the tastiest loaf by turning it over and seeing how much tarry stuff was caked on the bottom. Not any more.
