Benedict Cuminmysnatch just kissed a woman after breaking through her window.
I never have anything nice happen like that to me.

I add to your list of blokes in big coats - Angel and Spike from Buffy Grin

FrankelInFoal · 06/01/2014 06:53

Love this tweet from BC's friend James Rhodes last night:

@JRhodesPianist: And final word before nighttime coma - drunk Sherlock terrifyingly, hysterically similar to a drunk Cumberbatch :)

Grin
Thurlow · 06/01/2014 07:23

I liked Sherlock's deductions while drunk - "chair, sleep... Hi-fi noisy thing... Another chair, sitty thing..." Grin

TheRealAmandaClarke · 06/01/2014 07:46

Brilliant.
But I missed last night's hair ruffle.

LetUsPrey · 06/01/2014 08:05

Hasn't Steven Moffat said something like if you thought you went through the wringer with The Reichenbach Fall, it's even worse at the end of this episode three?

Git. Grin

FrankelInFoal · 06/01/2014 08:09

That's what I thought Prey, I have a feeling they've been light-hearted in the first 2 episodes to lull us into a false sense of security. I think very bad things are going to happen Sad

LetUsPrey · 06/01/2014 08:13

Speaking of light-hearted, hair ruffle anyone?

MissMarplesBloomers · 06/01/2014 08:35

Somethings going to happen with Mary I have a feeling.

(sob) poor Watson

GhostsInSnow · 06/01/2014 08:38

I asked dh to kiss me like Sherlock, he asked what I meant so I told him that minus the window jumping it was a hair ruffle and face grab. he thought for a moment, came over to me, ruffled MY hair, grabbed HIS face then kissed me and walked off chuckling.
I said that was it,I was leaving him for Mr cumberbatch, his reply? ok, but you are taking the puppy.... Grin

MadeOfStarDust · 06/01/2014 08:52

MissMarplesBloomers - it does .... in the books (but not very satisfactorily - is that even a word?) ... will be interesting to see what happens in the series...

VikingLady · 06/01/2014 09:54

I thought the emotions in this episode were pretty dark - Sherlock was unhappy all the way through clearly needs me to take his mind of it

But I think it must get really dark, if they are trying to keep the characters and relationships close to the books. Watson and Mary don't have children, Mary dies and Watson moves back in iirc. Seriously hoping the writers don't do that! Hmm

Did love the deducty bit with fast monologue at the end of the wedding speech. Really like his hyper intelligent deducty rants Smile

WilsonFrickett · 06/01/2014 10:13

I'd kind of rather she died than turned out to be a sort of evil Mary - which I had my suspicions about in ep 1. Poor John either way.

I agree, it felt like a real change of tone last night, good on the writers for still experimenting and shaking it up - but I too suspect next week will be vair dark and minus hair ruffling...

Wevet · 06/01/2014 10:37

I thought last night was too sunny and cuddly, and best-friendy considering the friends in question are a 'high-functioning sociopath' (who last week genuinely believed that dressing up as a comedy waiter was the best way to reveal to his grieving friend that he'd faked his own death two years earlier) and a normal man who is furious at having been left to grieve needlessly for years!

Mary is lovely, but I agree that everything looks to be poised to crash over into disaster.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 06/01/2014 10:38

I thought last night's episode was really good - but I have the same ominous feeling about Mary Sad

I think Moffet will set it up so she looks like the baddy, then she'll die. Then we'll find out she wasn't bad after all... mind you, that's kind of what happened with Sherlock falling off the roof, isn't it?

Nombrechanger · 06/01/2014 10:41

LetUsPray - May the good Lord bless you for that hair ruffle link.

Honestly.

Nombrechanger · 06/01/2014 10:42

I wasn't going to mention about Mary dying...

TheLostWinchesterWife · 06/01/2014 11:21

letuspray I think you should be given an OBE awardfor that link! That is an Ogling Benedict Enablement award ib case you're wondering!

Thurlow · 06/01/2014 11:32

Thanks, letuspray, I just clicked on that link at work and came up as blocked because it's pornography! That's going to look good on my history Grin Well, at least I'm leaving in a few weeks. Which is why I'm just merrily watching the drunken Post-It Note game again. "Am I a pretty lady?"

KatnipEvergreen · 06/01/2014 11:37

I was just relieved Mary didn't die last night. I couldn't remember Watson having a (living) wife in any other version of SH.

It's just too cute that Amanda and Martin are married IRL though. Squeeee! Sorry Blush

MadeOfStarDust · 06/01/2014 11:43

In the books, she just dies in between books... so not part of the story - just a means of Sherlock and Watson moving back in together.. cannot imagine that happening in the series though... too many possibilities to wring out the angst etc...

Heartbrokenmum73 · 06/01/2014 11:56

I loved how he had no idea who Madonna was, he'd just plucked her name out of the newspaper.

And the way John, when drunk, slid off his seat, put his hand on Sherlock's knee, looked a bit confused and said 'I don't mind' before getting up again.

The drunk acting was just perfect - 'I know about ash! Don't try to tell me I don't!' Grin

But also very worried about next weeks episode because the last episode in each series has been very dark and series 2 was definitely worse than series 1, so series 3...

TheRealAmandaClarke · 06/01/2014 12:17

Thanks letuspray

Thurlow · 06/01/2014 12:21

What's on that link? Envy

Lottapianos · 06/01/2014 12:53

'It's just too cute that Amanda and Martin are married IRL though'

Hate to be a PITA pedant but they aren't married - they are conscientious objectors, like me and DP Grin They have been together for a long time and have two children but have decided not to get married.

It's torture only having 3 episodes in a series. Getting very worried about what next week's episode will involve, everyone seems to be predicting serious doom and gloom.
