Friends of ours are due their first baby any day soon. They've sent a email and announced the sex and said that they will announce the name when baby is born.

BUT

They've also the name 'will surprise everyone' and 'we'd appreciate it if you don't make any comments that aren't positive- this is our decision'.

What the fuck have they named this child? I am DYING to know. It's just unfair!

David Cameron

Probably after family members but dreading the obvious link. (Boring suggestion, sorry, but I am convinced and I want to win the thread!!)

YoMamma · 11/01/2014 19:09

Optimus Prime

Nousernameforme · 13/01/2014 08:05

Do you think op has forgotten this thread? or that the poor woman is actually nearly two weeks over?

TheGinLushMinion · 13/01/2014 09:03

She's not due until the end of the month if I remember right?

bouncingbelle · 13/01/2014 17:43

Dickon

SauvignonBlanche · 13/01/2014 17:48

I used to work with a Dickon.

itsSantanaLopez · 15/01/2014 14:05

It's H.e.a.n.e.y.

Not worthy of the email I did think!

And a truly gorgeous wee bundle. Loads of hair!

ChristineDaae · 15/01/2014 14:21

Definitely not worthy of the e mail! What's wrong with it??

(Very jealous she has had him, I'm also due at the end of the month!)

MrsCakesPremonition · 15/01/2014 14:22

As in Seamus?

Not sure why they were making such a flap about it.

itsSantanaLopez · 15/01/2014 14:26

Presumably, MrsCakes.

It's not something I would pick, but I've heard a lot worse!

Awwww, cute name!

My guess is that they have a member of the family who is wont to make insensitive remarks, or who has demanded that the new baby be called after grandpa Hildebrand, so they've preempted it by making a public declaration that comments will NOT be welcome!

HoratiaDrelincourt · 15/01/2014 16:41

Huh. Well it wouldn't have been on my list but it's neither offensively normal nor offensively off the wall. Disappointing on both counts Wink

WTTW Baby H!

UriGeller · 15/01/2014 16:42

Aah, a teeny weeny Heaney!

WhenWhyWhere · 15/01/2014 16:47

It's a bit of an odd name but it's cute enough. BTW I think the OP is trying to make sure this thread isn't google'able so best if no one one types out the little lads name.

Thurlow · 15/01/2014 16:49

Hmm. It's an unusual name and not one I've heard before but it's hardly Adolf, Stalin or Mycroft.

weeblueberry · 15/01/2014 16:55

Aww it's lovely. Presumably doesn't have the full stops in it.

Unless the baby is a rapper

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 15/01/2014 16:57

Nothing wrong with that, assuming their surname isn't Beaney.

OpalQuartz · 15/01/2014 17:15

Just looked it up on the dark greener website and it didn't come up (so must be pretty rare as a first name)

OpalQuartz · 15/01/2014 17:17

Same website says that Myra was used 30 times in 2012. Nice name but a bit Shock until you got used to it on the child.

OpalQuartz · 15/01/2014 17:37

Did they pick it to honour Seamus H op?

itsSantanaLopez · 15/01/2014 17:50

I think they did Opal.

Yes, no full stops Grin Trying to make it less-google-able.

TheLostPelvicFloorOfPoosh · 15/01/2014 20:21

Aww, I love it!

Moln · 15/01/2014 21:37

Feel a bit let down now. I was expecting something like Itchybumbum or Icklebaba at the very least.

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/01/2014 21:45

I think they got a bit over excited about their choice being the most out there name ever, bless them.

Caitlin17 · 15/01/2014 23:02

What a disappointment. It's ok. I wouldn't have picked it. Obviously you can't say it but I'm struggling to make a surname work with it!
