Friends of ours are due their first baby any day soon. They've sent a email and announced the sex and said that they will announce the name when baby is born.

BUT

They've also the name 'will surprise everyone' and 'we'd appreciate it if you don't make any comments that aren't positive- this is our decision'.

What the fuck have they named this child? I am DYING to know. It's just unfair!

Best. Thread. Ever.

Fave comment: How about getting a puppy then, when they have the BIG reveal, look horrified and tell them that you have already given the puppy the same name and already ordered an engraved collar/bowl/bed etc.

Fave name so far Marmite

I may need to get a couple of new cats to use these names.

BadLad · 06/01/2014 04:55

You seriously would have thought I'd picked Adolf.

Well, Benito is still used as an Italian name.

FryOneFatManic · 06/01/2014 11:16

I still think these parents are being all smug and self congratulatory on an "unusual name". Which will then turn out to be rather popular and they'll find a few others with that name after all. Grin

SlimJiminy · 06/01/2014 11:43

FFS! What makes them think you give a shit?! Annoyed at myself now for giving a shit...

TitsalinaBumSquash · 06/01/2014 11:52

I've been watching a lot of MARVEL stuff recently so I'm going to throw in,

Stark,
Coulson,
Fury,
Bruce,
Banner,
Hulk,
Loki,
Thor,
Shield,

Grin
MrsKwazii · 06/01/2014 11:59

Isambard and Titus are woefully underused I feel Grin

The big reveal is going to be hugely disappointing. It'll be Bob or Colin.

PeterParkerSays · 06/01/2014 12:22

Christopher Robin

(as was foisted upon a poor bugger I interviewed recently. 1970s parents had a lot to answer for)

ToffeeOwnsTheSausage · 06/01/2014 12:56

Kale or Crumpet.

Objection · 06/01/2014 13:32

Princess Consuela Banana Hammock.

(I've managed to get this into two threads in five minutes!)

ApprenticeViper · 06/01/2014 13:52

Objection I see your Princess Consuela Bananahammock and raise you Crapbag Grin

Alternatively, I'm guessing Blackadder. Or Nigel.

TheLostPelvicFloorOfPoosh · 06/01/2014 13:54

What's wrong with Christopher Robin? It's better than Pooh. Could have been Pooh.

CakePunch · 06/01/2014 13:55
