To go on holiday meaning ds2 misses first 4 days of reception?

This is a holiday of a lifetime for us so not a regular occurance
Ive got two older children who ive never taken out for holidays and never will again.
However if i go 4 days earlier its approx £800 more expensive which could be our spending money.

Ds2 will have a staggered intake into reception anyway so he may not even start til the thursday or friday.

Would i ruin his life if he didnt start until the following monday? Will everyone have made friends?

Have you considered October half term instead? If you only get a week it would still be the same amount of time out of school but without missing the first day?

Also, October is great at Disneyworld. The Hallowe'en decorations and parades are brilliant.

Also, the first week of September is sometimes Jersey week I think, where the parks are busier.

Will have a look at October

We went last October. 13 days. It was great, lovely weather and not too busy. I think missing the last couple of days of the Half term is better than missing the start.

We went in November last time, but now DD is at school we are going in October this year.

Just to update, I txt the reception teacher today, she said it will be a staggered intake over the weds/thurs/fri and that it won't matter a jot if he starts the following Monday as average settling in time is 2 weeks, longer for some.

So have compromised and will be home early Thursday and will request he goes in Friday Grin

Why have almost all your posts on previous threads been withdrawn? Even on really innocuous threads about baby routines? Intrigued!

Ooh don't know why all of them have!! Really??
