Are your children the most beautiful little people you have ever seen?

Do you think your children are the most beautiful things in the world. I mean genuinely?

I have only ever known one person say their child is not cute. I have heard oh he has big ears or a big head etc

Reason I am asking because more than one person I know said before they got pregnant that if their child is ugly they would know, they wouldnt just say they are good looking for the sake of it etc etc.

They have their child and guess what they say the child is beautiful. They KNOW their child is and they would definately say if they wasn't. But the said children are not beautiful...

So question what is it that makes people think their kids are gawjusss even if they are clearly not?

SN: I am ready to be slated but this is a genuine question and relates to people pre pregnancy who slag of children for not being stereotypical cute.

I went away for work and came back to find my DS shorter than he was when I left. Not quite sure what happened there!

Look, we're on the Internet, I could claim that angels, shepherds and the three kings show up to worship every time my toddler gets out of his cot!

To the poster who said her baby had done some modelling, including having his/her butt sniffed - as you said it paid really badly, why did you do it, if not for financial gain...? Is it considered a prestigious thing to do, to the extent that money is secondary?

My son is gorgeous. Yes, he truly is. (I have no idea how to insert smily, self depreciating face here!)

My son is so beautiful he glows. He actually radiates a glow of beauty. I sound mad but it's true.

Looking at his face makes me ecstatic, I will never tire of it until he's a greasy spotty teenager

Oh my very God.
You know when you have that wee voice inside your head...the one that speaks your thoughts?
Well...sometimes it's a good idea to keep it there. Wink Grin

So it paid about £140 for half a day. By the time DH had taken her to the audition, lost time doing that, then driven her to the shoot, paid for parking, hung around for half a day when he could be working and then paid the agency their cut, it really wasn't worth it. When we signed her up, we thought it would be worth it. We have some lovely pictures of her as a result, but her savings account only has a few hundred quid in it as a result. DS's has about the same in, just from me putting every £2 that I get into his piggy bank, and it involves less butt sniffing.

I think DD is absolutely beautiful but she has her bad days, and is not very photogenic.

I do think my DS the absolutely most gorgeous thing. He also has angular features and isnt always photogenic especially as he now always pulls faces

DD is striking, but perhaps not universally beautiful. DP also comments it's better that her hair is a bit longer and not tied back so her ears don't show...(they are a little Spock-ish)
My Nan tells a delightful story about how her baby (my Uncle) was an ugly baby - people used to lean over the pram and literally falter mid-sentence Grin I've seen the pictures. He was a brute.

DS2 is a lovely little boy, really cute. He's 2. DS1 is 15 and has lost his little boy cuteness. But he is turning into a handsome young man. I love both my boys to bits.

I think my DCs are beautiful, but am under no illusions that everyone will think so. For one thing, they tend to get the universal snotty nose as young children do.

Although when we were on holiday this year we had several people tell us independently how lovely they were. Which was nice Grin

My ds is lovely looking now. Who knows what he will be like as a teenager though? Right now he has big brown sparkly eyes (that always get comments) lovely thick brown hair, lovely skin and a gorgeous smile.
