11 weeks dd, every four hours or so. Immediately if there is poo. Hth

HopeForTheBest · 11/12/2013 16:16

Well, mine is not in nappies any more (6yo now!), but back when he was I would change them often - whenever they were wet or had something in them. I couldn't bear the thought of him sitting in his own wee/poo.
So we got through a lot of nappies, but on the other hand, never ever had any problems with nappy rash or anything like that either.

SantanaLopez · 11/12/2013 16:16

When they need it.

Pascha · 11/12/2013 16:16

DS2 probably has between 4 and 6 nappies per day, depending on how much poo there is. about 4 hours is average daytimes.

PumpkinPie2013 · 11/12/2013 16:46

Usually before/after a feed as they are usually wet/dirty then.

If I know he is wet/dirty in between I change them immediately as I don't want him getting sore.

MurderOfGoths · 11/12/2013 16:48

When needed, so it varies

DingDongUriGelleryOnHigh · 11/12/2013 16:48

Between 4 and 8. She's 10.5 months and has either has one big poo or several small poos during a day. One nappy lasts her from 7pm til 7am .

Twattyzombiebollocks · 11/12/2013 16:49

10 months. When she wakes in the morning, before morning nap, after lunch, after afternoon nap, before bed. Also, if she poos (usually x2 per day and almost always in a clean nappy) I change her straight away, so about every 4 hours. When she was tiny I used to change her after every feed so about 2 hourly

purplebaubles · 11/12/2013 16:50

4 hours? Wow. Maybe I'm being excessive!

TBH I change as soon as they're bulky with wee, which could be anything up to 6/7 changes a day, so every 2 hours or so? Immediately obviously if it's poo. But I hate the thought of her wandering around with a load of wee on her. She's never had nappy rash either, not surprisingly! not even a little bit!

pianodoodle · 11/12/2013 16:53

Have you an age in mind?

DD is nearly 2 1/2

Probably only get through about 4 a day depending :)

diamondsrforever · 11/12/2013 17:03

Every 2 hours.....clearly I must enjoy changing nappies Confused

Lj8893 · 11/12/2013 17:06

Before a feed (averaging every 3 hours) or if she needs changing in between.
Probably about 6 times in 24 hours.

She's 6 weeks.

SugarPlumpFairy3 · 11/12/2013 17:06

My twins are 14 months and they probably get through 4-5 nappies each per day. Dirty nappies get changed straight away but apart from that they get changed first thing, after lunch and before bed.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 11/12/2013 17:15

23 months, probably 4 times per day. She tells me when she wants it changing so I leave it to her to mention it! :o

Workberk · 11/12/2013 17:27

5-7 times a day, depending on whether he's having an epic poo day.

bluecheeseforbreakfast · 11/12/2013 17:39

Ds is 11 months, he has 1 nappy from 5.30 in the evening that lasts him all night. He poos regularly when he first wakes up so he either poos in his night nappy or on the potty. I then change his nappy after lunch and that one lasts until bedtime.

So 3 in 24 hours.

This seems less than everyone else, ds has never had any hint of nappy rash. He also hates having his nappy changed, he screams and tries to run away so we try to minimise the amount of nappy changes we do.

mumofboyo · 11/12/2013 17:42

I probably change them roughly every 3-4 hrs (I have 2 dc in nappies) on a normal day. I think for each child I get through 5-6 nappies a day. I change them when they're obviously wet - more than one wee - and when they've had a poo. They're 1.2 and 2.7.

TooTabooHasBigShinyBaubles · 11/12/2013 17:56

DS is 8.5 months, we do:

After breakfast
Before late morning nap
After afternoon nap/before school run
Before tea
Bedtime

Plus any dirty nappies get done immediately.

spongebob13 · 11/12/2013 18:06

when they need it. sil used to let her lo sit in a dirty nappy for a while as her reason was "I just changed her!" Angry

CoffeeChocolateWine · 11/12/2013 18:09

DD is 17 months and she gets through about 4-5 nappies a day.

ToriaPumpkin · 11/12/2013 18:19

DS is 2.1 and probably three to four a day. We use cloth if that makes a difference? I change it immediately if he's dirty and more often if he's very wet but generally we get by with one on at 7am, a change at lunchtime, one in the afternoon (if needed) and one at bath time. Only had nappy rash when teething and it was pretty minor.

MammaTJ · 11/12/2013 18:21

Once a day! Grin

But then he is 7 and wears 1 pair of 'night pants' otherwise known as pull ups to bed, then big boy pants during the day!

judgejudithjudy · 11/12/2013 18:24

thats awful spongebob :-( reason i ask is i got told i dont change my nappies enough & i thought every 4 hours was reasonable (unless pooped)!

How old are babies being changed every two hours as it does seem excessive, mine have never had nappy rash either, there is a middle ground
