1 Tell you if you need specs
2 Tell you if you're pregnant
3 Diagnose your child based on the description of their symptoms
4 Tell you if you've broken a limb
5 In general tell you what is wrong with you

We have not met you. We have not seen your eyes, ears, mouth, hurt limb or other body part.

GO TO THE FUCKING DOCTOR.

A thread about so so so so so so so so so so so so so many threads.

TEE you need to hide 'General Health' Grin

MammaTJ · 07/12/2013 14:43

There is a local surgery who will disagree.

I know they are actually doctors, but they never need to actually see patients. They just ring you up, diagnose and prescribe over the phone. They will even send the prescription straight to the chemists, to avoid any patient contact at all, even with the receptionists!

Grin
OvaryAction · 07/12/2013 14:43

What do you make of my rash? Should I go to the doctor or just put some savlon on it and hope for the best?

TantrumsAndBalloons · 07/12/2013 14:45

We also cannot tell you whether that chicken is safe to eat. Because we can't, you know see it or smell it.

Whereas you can

Sparklingbrook · 07/12/2013 14:45

DH rang the Doctors once and told them he had a rash. Over the phone they diagnosed a fungal infection and prescribed cream.
Turned out it was Shingles.

How we laughed. Hmm

But I bet if I had photographed it and posted on MN someone would have known. Wink

GodRestTEEMerryGenTEEmen · 07/12/2013 14:47

I had foot and mouth diagnosed by Dr Mumsnet. She was bloody right too!

Sparklingbrook · 07/12/2013 14:53

I haven't seen a Bartholins Cyst thread for a week or so.
I had one for Christmas one year. Couldn't walk or sit down. Pre-MN so couldn't ask for advice. Sad

UriGeller · 07/12/2013 14:55

That's it for the Internet then.

We can not tell you if you are pregnant - get a test, piss on it and then tell us.

GodRestTEEMerryGenTEEmen · 07/12/2013 14:58

That's the one I missed Farrow! I knew there was one.

Take your child to a dentist, MrsD.

DH had a bizarre accident in the bathroom last week and I didn't ask MN.
We went straight to Minor Injuries at the hospital.

gordy Grin sparklingyou could have posted a picture of your cyst. Grin

gordyslovesheep · 07/12/2013 15:06

a grey tooth you say ...hmm usually that would indicate that your child is the chosen one ...

thebody · 07/12/2013 15:07

my cat has a cyst on his head which I have to syringe every 2 weeks.

it's very therapeutic.

I would send you a picture but one of the cat haters might track him down and shoot him accompanied by a blind child.

Sparklingbrook · 07/12/2013 15:07

YY thebody a big close up of my fanjo boil in Chat, now we can put pictures up. Grin

MinesAPintOfTea · 07/12/2013 15:07

MN is for when your DH is in the hospital (alone or with child) and you need to distract yourself some moral support whilst you wait to hear what's going on.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 07/12/2013 15:08

Ds1 fell over and banged his front tooth aged 11. The tooth died or something like that. I thought he would have a grey tooth forever but it fades away and goes back to white apparently.
I appreciate that may not be helpful at all in your situation Grin

True fact though.
