In wanting to take a breastfeeding baby to Chelsea flower show

I was just about to book tickets to Chelsea flower show for my mum and sister as an Xmas present but I have just noticed that no under 5's allowed and no buggies.

I will have a breastfed 7month old who I will not be able to leave at home. I'm happy to carry in a sling - would I really be banned??

Does anyone else have experience of this - I'm shocked that children aren't allowed to be honest. Do you think they would make an exception for a breastfeeding baby?

My other son was a bottle refuser so I haven't tried with this one yet (can't be bothered with thefaff) so I doubt that leaving him with dad and a bottle will really be an option

Janey68 but all babies are different. My dd would never take a bottle, it is actually a pretty isolating and difficult thing to be unable to go anywhere for more than an hour for months on end. This was after trying every bottle, everything possible.

It took quite a few weeks before she learnt how to use the cup. Only just able to go out for a day at nearly ten months.

This is actually pretty common I don't think it's fair to say the op had a difficult child

Nothing smug about it.

This happened to me! I rocked up with my six month old baby (my ticket was on the other side with a friend so I had no idea we wouldn't get in) I took her in a sling as, having been a few times before, I knew taking a buggy was crazy. The man at the gate was impossibly sweet and admitted the policy in our case was silly. My daughter is now five, she grows tomatoes, potatoes and parsley. She can tell her fatsia japonica from her taxus baccata and it is all no thanks to the RHS! The Chelsea flower show is now too big and uncomfortable for its small site, whether you're carrying a baby or not. That day we walked over the river to battersea park where you can see britain's tallest arbutus unedo (who knew) and fed the ducks.
