Like saying 'I'm not a savoury person' or 'I'm not a main course type'.

I'm not a "dessert person" as I'm not made of trifle, ice cream or fudge.

However I will always eat pudding Grin

Anyone remember Reggie Perrin's son-in-law who always said 'I'm a (whatever it is) person'? In fact once he said something like 'I can't help it, I'm just a 'I'm a (whatever it is) person' person'.

I loved those books.

YABU
I'm not a dessert person. Or a starter person. Give me a good main course and I'm not fussed about more food.
Booze on the other hand .......

YY to the Pizza express mini desserts / puddings with coffee. I quite like puddings that aren't too sweet like a dark chocolate mousse but generally could take it or leave it.

Ording another starter for pudding is genius - I tend to want most of the starters and always struggle to choose.

BTW - Doughnuts are the work of the devil - FACT - they are the most vilely sickly sweet blobs of grease...

I am a dessert person, and a starter person, and a main person and a coffee and nibbles after all of that person.

I also like to drink a lot of wine with my dinner, expensive wine. Don't mind starting with similarly expensive cocktails and following with dessert wine/spirits.

And No, I don't want to split the bill because my dinner is probably going to cost lots and I don't want it ruined by guilt for the person who has decided to have a salad and a glass of water.

MN has taught me to avoid bill splitting at all costs.

Agree with MackerelOfFact.

And don't see the need to eat something sweet after a meal.

ChubbyKitty · 28/11/2013 11:32

I'd like to see a restaurant that would offer me a dessert, then a cheeseboard, then coffee.

In fact any order will suffice. I'm not fussy clearly

I don't mind if the person isn't insisting we all have starters and no desserts. They can just get on with it and have whatever. But don't try and stop me burying my face in a structurally sound meringue.

CloverkissSparklecheeks · 28/11/2013 11:41

echt maybe I didn't explain in enough detail, I was referring to a specific incident where SIL actually did say she thought we were greedy and had no willpower and that she didn't have desserts for that reason. I wasn't guessing what she was thinking. I also said it wasn't always the case as some people just don't like sweet stuff!
