It's all in the title really. A woman just told me she had parked in one because she had a dog in her car. Aibu to think she is inconsiderate?

I have arthritis. I am 31 weeks pregnant and I have a massive 2 yo who I struggle to get in and out of the car.

It pisses me off when I see people without children using them

Catnap26 · 23/11/2013 16:51

Mary-I don't feel entitled at all I'm just saying that these spaces are safer than other spaces for so many reasons and like I have said if these spaces aren't available then I go park somewhere where there is more space.

Sparklingbrook · 23/11/2013 16:51

usual are you seething? Grin

Showy · 23/11/2013 16:52

There's only a very little bit of 2013 left and after approximately 5639* P&C parking threads this year, I'm still yet to understand the fuss. Maybe 2014 will be my year.

*random figure I pulled out of Tee's ass.

usualsuspect · 23/11/2013 16:53

Yes,Sparkling I only came on the thread for a seethe Grin

MaryZygon · 23/11/2013 16:53

Sorry Catnap, I wasn't getting at you, really I wasn't. I just find that people do get to the stage that they feel they need P&C spaces. Whereas they really don't - we all managed before they existed, we all manage if they are full.

Disabled spaces are another thing entirely, and I hate the way people mix the two up confused in arguments.

ConfusedDotty · 23/11/2013 16:53

We park in them all the time. We have no child or dog with us, I am on crutches with a broken leg and I am too scared to park in a disabled bit. That's my excuse.

YABU.

TEEARDIS · 23/11/2013 16:54

Grin Showy. I thought I felt something.

Good grief showy, you went near TEE's arse? Grin

usualsuspect · 23/11/2013 16:55

I had several PMs to alert me to this thread.

I have a special seething inbox.

Catnap26 · 23/11/2013 16:55

Agree Mary perhaps I was too hasty to say I need the space.it does frustrate me though that spaces appear to be getting smaller and tighter making it more difficult if you have children who don't walk.

I know you are lying usual.

You didn't get any pm's because you have no friends

You are just looking for attention.

Yes Catnap. The herringbone parking is the answer - and I'm surprised there aren't more cars with sliding doors. I could have done with those.

Tiredmumno1 · 23/11/2013 16:57

Grin usual

Maybe it's good I don't have a special seething inbox, my head would explode Grin.

Sparklingbrook · 23/11/2013 16:58

Buy a car with rear sliding doors. Job done. Park in a normal space.

morethanpotatoprints · 23/11/2013 16:58

I've managed to raise 3 dc without there being a need to use one of these spaces.
It is a courtesy and marketing ploy by supermarkets.
Walking a few extra feet won't harm you or your dc Grin.
If you struggle to get them into the car, how does parking nearer help? You'll still struggle. Confused

usualsuspect · 23/11/2013 16:59

You are just jealous of my MN mates,Maryz.

Catnap26 · 23/11/2013 16:59

Earless read previous posts!

Tiredmumno1 · 23/11/2013 17:01

Fight, fight, fight.

Grin

I am bored

saintlyjimjams · 23/11/2013 17:02

Tbh the p&c spots are more dangerous because they're surrounded by irate parents waiting (WTF?) and trying to grab spaces. Park near the back where no one goes because that would involve walking an extra metre & wheel a trolley to the car. Problem solved

Credentials: had 3 aged 5 & under including one who was severely disabled (& now has a blue badge but didn't then). #takesabow

londonrach · 23/11/2013 17:02

Sister 2 dc under 5 always parks right at back of car park as she says its safer when getting pushchair etc than the p and c spaces near the door...
