It's all in the title really. A woman just told me she had parked in one because she had a dog in her car. Aibu to think she is inconsiderate?

Supermarkets really do bring out the worst in everyone.

I have been considerably happier since I've started online shopping. Tesco are great, if you comment by the products, you get the correct dates. They are fab at picking me the right colour bananas, for example. If they give me short dates, I used to phone up and complain. They don't anymore!

Ditto this.

Why do people talk rubbish about online shopping - who's got £5 delivery and a 2 hour slot the next day to wait for when they just want nappies, milk and a nice bit of cake? And no, you can't 'just get organised' on 3 hours sleep at a time having never been a parent before, so you can fuck right off on that one. Why can't the ignorant moron that doesn't have a 2 year old to look out for 'just get organised' and park somewhere else?

Equally you have to be an idiot to think people should lock the kids in a cupboard whilst they pop to the shops. Of course people take their children with them.

If none of your supermarket car parks have large enough spaces without them being P&C perhaps we should all park right in the middle of normal spaces taking up 2 at a time.

Arabesque1 · 26/11/2013 17:07

It was actually someone supporting P&T spaces who suggested that people without children should shop online instead of coming to the supermarket at peak times. It was just pointed out that this argument could equally apply to people without children, who also don't always have a £5 delivery and a two hour slot for when they just want a jar of coffee and a loaf of bread.

Arabesque1 · 26/11/2013 17:08

Sorry that was muddled. The argument could equally apply to people with children as people without children also don't always have a £5 etc

TheRealAmandaClarke · 26/11/2013 17:59

Yy to sparkletshirt

DuckToWater · 26/11/2013 17:59

Waitrose.com has no delivery charge and 1 hour slots...

The thing is swanningby, you say you can only shop on Saturday afternoon when the car park is full, apart from the P&C spaces. But you could have done a full shop in the time you spent telling off "entitled" parents on this thread. Maybe just a question of resetting your priorities? Grin

DuckToWater · 26/11/2013 18:01

I completely agree with you by the way, sparkletshirt

candycoatedwaterdrops · 26/11/2013 21:34

Sparkletshirt You do know that P&C spaces are a marketing ploy, not a nod in your direction from Tesco for all the hard work you do in raising your child, right? Grin

HaroldTheGoat · 26/11/2013 21:46

Whistle are you posting on this thread to point out that your too busy having a life to post on these types of threads? Bit rich that.

This. And the martyrs.

waltermittymissus · 27/11/2013 08:43

FFS! Sarky comments instead of just not being a lazy bastard and parking somewhere else?!

And before anyone starts I'm not talking about people with disabilities/injuries/pregnant women etc.

TiggyD · 27/11/2013 09:35

I think there should be spaces for overweight people too. A long way from the door of the shop so they have further to wobble.

farrowandbawl · 27/11/2013 09:36

Oh christ, I really shouldn't have laughed at that.

MidniteScribbler · 27/11/2013 10:13

I decided when I gave birth that I had not actually delivered the second coming of Christ and that I wasn't entitled to anything that I wasn't entitled to before doing the world an enormous favour by reproducing. Henceforth, I decided that those people who gave birth to children that are far less special than mine need the space more and I park at the back of the carpark and use my perfectly capable legs to traverse the several extra metres to the door of the shopping centre.

Swanningby · 27/11/2013 10:42

Where did I say that DucktoWater?

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 27/11/2013 11:45

I like to park near the trolley bays so I can grab one as quickly as possible, shove DTs in the twin ones (which are ALWAYS right at the back arrgh) and then get DS1 into his backpack lead.

P&C spaces have never bothered me because they've never occurred to me for what is easiest for me.

If our local had the trolley bay right next to them, yes I'd grab one. This is just something I can't get het up over. Shopping with three toddlers is torture enough, I don't need to make myself more miserable! Grin

Whistleblower0 · 27/11/2013 12:06

I did a mahoosive grocery shop this morning. My dd was with me,- training day today.
We parked in a p& c space as they are much closer to the entrance there was loads of them available. . She had just straightened her hair,- it's blowing a gale here, and she didn't want it messed up.
i'm changing my mind about these spaces. They can come in pretty useful on occassionWink

Arabesque1 · 27/11/2013 12:10

Have you tried parking sideways across three of them Whistle? It saves loads of bother when you're trying to reverse out.

Whistleblower0 · 27/11/2013 12:42

Actually Arab, we do this frequently when we are towing our trailer tent during the summer. Supermarkets are a perfect place to stop for a bite to eat and a coffee, especially on a long trip. Smile

Arabesque1 · 27/11/2013 12:48

We usually use one space for the car, one for the tent and another to lay out our picnic table and chairs. We have our children with us, so it's not a problem. Smile

Whistleblower0 · 27/11/2013 13:01

I like your style Arabesque Smile
