NC (not for this) but I'm long-standing MNer (Pom bear, naice ham...)

This might ruin the whole concept of AIBU but sometimes people pop up with opinions that I am shocked by, not because of what they are but just because they are so marginal. (SPs Cliff Richard obsession, for example?)

So, whilst encouraging you all to go forth and spread your weird and wonderful thoughts all over AIBU and elsewhere, what really unpopular opinions do you hold?

I have a couple of corkers, first one is that Kanye West however much of a knob he is actually is a genius.

I hate boobs. I think flat chested women look better, thinner, tidier. I don't understand fake boobs at all.

LuciusMalfoyisSmokingHot · 20/11/2013 20:53

JOLLEIGH. I love your suggestion about people on JSA for 1+ years should be given two weeks work placements in order to keep their work confidence up. Our politicians are not the brightest bunch, are they?

Its called the Mandatory week programme, for 4 weeks.

I've done it.

ENormaSnob · 20/11/2013 20:54

I like caravan holidays

And centre parcs

And package holidays

And new builds

And feature walls

SoldAtAuction · 20/11/2013 20:54

I am a lot less perturbed about a person sitting at home smoking a bit of weed, than idiots being drunk and gross in public

WorraLiberty · 20/11/2013 20:55

Jeez there are some real bigoted and thick fuckers on this thread.

Which reminds me of another unpopular opinion...

MNHQ should only allow name changing for proper reasons...such as someone posting about a real problem and not wanting to be identified.

It shouldn't be allowed so people can post like total cunts and hide behind their 'new identity' to do it.

Cowards

danone · 20/11/2013 20:55

To think that most (not all) marital problems could be solved if the partners physically touched each other more and talked to each other with more respect.

Jolleigh · 20/11/2013 20:57

Lucius - how common is the scheme? Are the places regular? Is the rate of pay reflective of the work? (very curious!)

PippaMiddleton · 20/11/2013 20:59

People who seem to come onto Mumsnet just to attack other posters are sad bastards who have no other way of building their own self-esteem.

Guitargirl · 20/11/2013 21:00

That the UK should have open borders. I reckon financially having open borders wouldn't cost the country any more than the insane amount of resources that are currently poured into ineffective immigration control.

That all dogs should be on a lead in public.

cantheyseeme · 20/11/2013 21:00

Contract phones are a mugs game.

welshnat · 20/11/2013 21:00

I hate when people wear leggings as trousers - if your top doesn't cover your arse and your crotch then wear jeans!!

People who can't tell the difference between learn and teach - DGM I'm looking at you.

I am stupidly scared of lorries and it stops me learning to drive, as I can't pass one without closing my eyes.

I hate when people put head bands on a baby with no hair - it's only because you want people to know your baldy baby is a girl!!

Tilly333 · 20/11/2013 21:01

I sometime just like being nasty to get it out of my system

I hate piercings and think they look cheap although I used to have my nose pierced a long time ago

I hate people who only wear certain brands of clothes joules / fat face / boden / white stuff wearers, there are other shops you know!

kalms1971 · 20/11/2013 21:01

Big eyebrow makeup looks ridiculous.

Leggings with pants showing through -it looks like nappies

calling a girl princess is intensely irritating and so is all the sickly pink tat.

False fingernails are a waste of money and creepy.

visitors are draining, especially children.

Annunziata · 20/11/2013 21:01

The thought of my 20-something children having to do their own ironing makes me a bit weepy.

TheCountessOlenska · 20/11/2013 21:02

I bloody love Ugg boots - I am getting a new pair for Christmas

I don't see the point in baby monitors and would never have one because I find them creepy!

Gileswithachainsaw · 20/11/2013 21:03

countess is that because you think you might hear voices from ghosts and stuff on them? Me too Blush

Mintyy · 20/11/2013 21:04

That is just pure self indulgence Annunziata.

joanofarchitrave · 20/11/2013 21:04

I don't think this country should have any armed forces.

I think sex offenders should all go into therapy programmes as at Grendon Underwood.

I think most prison sentences are much, much too long.

I think owners should have to pay 10% of a building's value for every year they leave it empty.

I don't think a woman or a man should necessarily leave if their partner hits them.

I think there are marriages that have ended because of Mumsnet, that could have survived.

usualsuspect · 20/11/2013 21:04

Nchanging cowards should fuck off to trollsnet.

bialystockandbloom · 20/11/2013 21:05

That 95% of the best films ever were made before 1970.

That people who don't drink (for non-medical reasons) are strange.

PippaMiddleton · 20/11/2013 21:06

Nobody should be allowed to learn the sex of their baby before the birth, unless there are potential genetic conditions that only affect a certain sex.

Nobody else needs to know. Sure you might want to, but unless we ban it all together, there will always be people who abort the 'wrong' sex. Even if we make people pay to find out the sex.

Sunnymeg · 20/11/2013 21:06

Christmas happens every year, on the same date! I cannot understand why people leave shopping for it until a couple of weeks before and then moan about how busy the shops are, can't these people plan?

Apple pie and cheese is nicer than apple pie and custard.

BigFatGoalie · 20/11/2013 21:07

I have a silver mint iCandy. I test drove the Bugaboo Chameleon before buying it. I now think that anyone with a Bugaboo bought it only for the "status" as it's actually pretty crap. I'm smug about my iCandy because it's so much better and prettier ... Blush

runs for cover

TheCountessOlenska · 20/11/2013 21:08

Hell yes Giles! Glad I'm not the only one Grin

cloggal · 20/11/2013 21:09

Custard is the work of the devil.
