To wonder how on earth this advert got there and to think it's not appropriate for this site?

'Easygoing funny and fit woman looking for guys. Meet her now"

Complete with skimpy little black dress.

Can anyone else see this at the top of the page?

No.

trashcanjunkie · 18/11/2013 22:03

er... no. bloody hell!

Kyrptonite · 18/11/2013 22:04

Are the adverts shown not linked to things you've viewed?

SPsIsAgainstCliffism · 18/11/2013 22:04

No.

Do you have a virus?

MrsCakesPremonition · 18/11/2013 22:05

I've got a Boden ad [boggles]

ilovesooty · 18/11/2013 22:05

It keeps coming and going. Mostly there's an advert for valuing your house and there was one for laminate flooring.

I'm on my phone but not on the mobile app.

WhoNickedMyName · 18/11/2013 22:05

It bought the adverts were somehow connected to cookies in your computer. Thought I'm not very techy so could be wrong.

Has someone in your house been using your computer to look for easygoing fit women? Grin

Kyrptonite · 18/11/2013 22:05

I'm on app so can't see adverts but I thought that there's some computer magic that matches adverts to viewing history.

I do agree that its inappropriate.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/11/2013 22:05

I'd be looking sideways at DH if something popped up like that. What has he/have you been Googling?

I've got clothes and rucksacks everywhere.

meboo · 18/11/2013 22:06

Lots of the add come from what you have been viewing elsewhere.

TheBuskersDog · 18/11/2013 22:06

I think the adverts are often sites that have been visited on your computer.Confused

WhoNickedMyName · 18/11/2013 22:06

I thought - not "it bought".

Ragusa · 18/11/2013 22:06

Are you on an open wireless network?

litdog · 18/11/2013 22:06

Hang on - don't the ads depend on what you've been looking at on your computer? I've got an ad for Hush and was googling that the other day.

Have you been looking at adult sites by any chance?!

ilovesooty · 18/11/2013 22:07

Kryptonite I doubt it!

Don't think I have a virus either.

OP posts:
UsedToBeNDP · 18/11/2013 22:07

I've got a recurring one about house values

[rightmove addiction]

HootShoot · 18/11/2013 22:07

Mine is an estate agents ad! I think the ads are connected to what sites you have been on and emails etc aren't they?

monicalewinski · 18/11/2013 22:07

I get clothing and shoes!

ilovesooty · 18/11/2013 22:08

I'm on my own phone to which only I have access. No I haven't looked at any adult sites.

Very strange.

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 18/11/2013 22:09

Never looked at laminate flooring ads either.

OP posts:
squeaver · 18/11/2013 22:09

Everyone is right about the ad at the top of your screen matching recent viewing history - it is the cookies thing

Ten minutes ago I was looking at scooters on Amazon and now I have an ad for scooters up there.

Someone using your computer has been on a dating site. Sorry.

DioneTheDiabolist · 18/11/2013 22:10

I get one for our local theatre. What have you been looking for OP?Shock

squeaver · 18/11/2013 22:11
