Just been watching him on This Morning (whilst pretending to work from home and surfing Mumsnet).

AIBU to think he should call it quits? His face is full of plastic and his movements are stiff. He's certainly never been a Mick Jagger but Mick still has the energy and fire of a 30 year old, despite looking so haggard (and we all know why THAT is).

So Cliff, what are you doing? You were very pretty when you were young. But now I think it's time to put on the slippers.

No. For two reasons.

1 - his original rock n' roll was fucking awesome - Move It! - and it wouldn't be Christmas without Saviour's Day and Little Town on my iPod in the kitchen while we eat breakfast (although I can leave Mistletoe and Wine and that dreadful Auld Lang Syne/Lord's Prayer mash-up).

2 - his calendar is a highlight for me - it never fails to make me laugh rather loudly in Clinton's.

Long may he reign (and I rather suspect he'll outlive us all, as I'm of the belief that Cliff actually died some years back (aged about 300) and was replaced by a convincing robot).

Cliff is a knob. The likes of Roger Daltrey, Pink Floyd, Queen are all getting on a bit but they are still awesome and incredibly cool still. I was born in the 70s and Cliff wasn't even cool when I was a kid. The likes of Saviours Day and Mistletoe and Wine make me [boak]
