Pegging

I think I have finally battered my OH into pegging me. I know we will need loads of lube but does anyone have any other advice? Must admit I'm nervous to find out what her choice of strap on is lol

I had a prop from Lakeland

Oh yes a prop us essential.

Love a pegging out washing thread. It makes me happy.

Some posters seem to be getting the wrong end of the peg Shock

Yes, a prop is essential for a sagging line.

Yes to props, hoist those sheets high!

Haven't pegged for a while though - since I got my new tumble drier

I have a huge bag of pretty wooden pegs decorated with buttons & beads - quite vintage - that I used to peg up photos on a hairy string washing line at my wedding reception.

You're welcome to them if that's your OH's thing OP?

I use wooden pegs on my freezer items, the plastic ones tend to break when cold.
But use plastic ones outside.

I have a really high up washing line between 2 poles, it's so high at one end, I can't reach it.
I use a prop too.

I long for a retractable one

I use the pole for my extendable window cleaning gadget as a prop. And matching pegs. Shirts and tshirts on hangers secured to the line with elastic bands. Is that uber pegging I wonder?

The Cath Kidston peg bag sounds sexy!

Pegs must be matching. My clothes have the special red pegs. Pegs must never be left on the line/dryer. Washing must be grouped in clothes groups. Socks must be paired prior to pegging. Rotary dryers should be removed from their handy hole and placed in the garage/shed after use. (Mine is several inches shorter now after rusting at the bottom after being left out and who wants to see the rotary dryer in the garden anyway???)
Dreams of a nice long washing line like I used to have in married quarters.....

We have a retractable one with two lines that my DM gave us. DH was not as excited about it as I was and I wonder if this is a cultural thing. He's Canadian and I think they just tumble dry everything, even in the summer. Any N Americans around to confirm how pegging is done over there?

Hope OP has washed his filthy sheets at 90'` this morning and has them flapping in the breeze already.

We have old an old school washing line with a pulley and everything. It is amazing, lower it, fill it up and then hoist it into the air to flap about in the wind. My grandmother used to have something similar but hers was two tier.

I've stopped pegging out now until it warms up a bit, nothing dries.

I need a two tier one

At this time of year it gets draped over radiators.

After a good flapping outside, does anyone wash their pegs in a beaker?

stickysausages · 16/11/2013 09:29

My peg bag has a hole in it too :(

Surely if you lubed up your pegs the washing would drop off onto the floor? Hmm

Report
stickysausages · 16/11/2013 09:30

The hole in my peg bag means it's prone to leakage :(

Report
RandallFloyd · 16/11/2013 09:33

I leave my pegs out.
They're in a very specific order that took sone time to perfect so bringing them in and out would be too much of a faff.

I didn't think I was particularly picky about pegging, items are grouped in the only way that makes logical sense, but it seems it's not as obvious as I think it is.

XDH used to try to emulate it but frankly his pegging was a little too maverick for my tastes.
