Actually, I am being really unreasonable. However I would like to ask those who have experienced Angel Feathers to....

...answer a few questions that I have.

1). What does it feel like when you see that feather?

2). What are your thoughts when this happens?

And

3). What would you say are the long term (if any) effects that you would attribute to these encounters.

I understand that this belief has been the subject of some ridicule here. I have no intention of ridiculing anyone. This thread has been inspired by a previous AIBU thread, but is not a thread about a thread. I am not a journalist. I am not seeking results to use in an academic submission or publication. What I am seeking is knowledge and understanding in the hope that I can use it to help others.

IABU for the following reasons:
I only posted in AIBU for the traffic. If MN rule that I have breached guidelines, can it be moved and not deleted.

And I ask the skeptics not to put people off answering honestly. If you think it necessary, I can start another thread for all your thoughts to be discussed. Perhaps the scientifically minded of you could look at this as an information gathering excersise.Smile

So, Satan is responsible for cancer?

That's a pretty powerful thing to be able to do.

Who gave Satan his power?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:27

this is evidence of our inbuilt knowledge of being perfect

We were created perfect. Some of this has survived. However since the Fall we began to be degenerate, copy errors if you like, passed down through the generations. However by accepting Redemption through Christ we are partakers of his inheritance.

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:28

Hettie We all have power. To bless or curse.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:29

Your view strikes me ans unrelentingly misanthropic. It must be horrid to be a human and despise humanity so. I feel for your confusion.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:30

You have the power to curse, lime? Did you mean that?!

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:31

garlic However I have Eternal Hope. There is potential for good in everyone. We are created by God, and there is some good in everyone. Without God I would be in a sorry state though.

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:32

garlic Yes, but if I was to do that it would be Evil so I am very careful not to.

HettiePetal · 16/11/2013 20:32

We will have free will but will not want to sin because we will be one with God

But according to you, in order not to violate free will (your explanation for why God lets Satan run amok), evil must exist.

So, evil must also exist in Heaven, otherwise there can be no free will. In order to "not want" to sin, the possibility to must exist.

So, is Satan also in Heaven, since he's the only thing that causes sin & evil?

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:33

So does that mean head and I are in a sorry state, lime, being without god?

Even though we aren't the ones burdened by a belief in mankind's filthiness?

HettiePetal · 16/11/2013 20:33

Hettie We all have power. To bless or curse

I do not have the power to cause hurricanes. Satan does.

WHO MADE SATAN SO POWERFUL?

Please answer. Who?

BackOnlyBriefly · 16/11/2013 20:34

We have our Resurrection bodies in Heaven. Any remnant of sin is falls away.

Thanks for the reply. Of course from my point of view that means a bit of brain surgery to prevent free will and therefore sin. I'd sooner die personally, but perhaps more to the point would be that if it worked and was ethically acceptable then it could have been done in the first place and avoided all this.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:34

You can't curse me, lime! Go on, have a go Grin

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:35

If you are one with God, as you are in Heaven, how could you act apart from Him? If you are not one with God you are not in Heaven, you are in Hell - afterlife speaking, so with Satan.

You freely choose to be with God.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:35

if it worked and was ethically acceptable then it could have been done in the first place

  • aye, by this all-powerful god.
sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:36

garlic No I will not curse you.

BackOnlyBriefly · 16/11/2013 20:36

Oh and presumably some of those feathers are falling from the angel Lucifer.

Just a nod to the original thread subject :)

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:37

Who knows? possibly.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:38

WHO MADE SATAN SO POWERFUL?

God did, didn't it? That all-loving god, the only source of good on earth/universe, gifted a second invisible entity with the power to oppose good. Which seems like a bastard trick, not mention pointless.

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:39

Hettie We have power to cast out Satan in Jesus' name.

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:39

Yeah, humans ain't perfect, but for the main we'd stop bad shit if we could, if it was in front of us. I see no reason to think we're getting worse, I see much reason to think we're leaning, albeit slowly. Even the religious amongst us on MN draw back from the notion of indefinite punishment which is very positive.

HettiePetal · 16/11/2013 20:40

If you are one with God, as you are in Heaven, how could you act apart from Him?

I might change my mind. I might decide I don't like God after all, and decide to be a sinner.

I have to have that choice, right, other wise I simply don't have free will.

So sin & evil must exist in Heaven.

Right?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:40

You'd be cast out of Heaven then, Hettie, like Lucifer.

HettiePetal · 16/11/2013 20:42

Hettie We have power to cast out Satan in Jesus' name

That's not what I asked.

Who gave Satan the kind of power he needs to create a hurricane that kills hundreds?

I don't have that kind of power. If I did, it would be a gift from God.

Who did Satan get his power from?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:44

Hettie Us. We give let him have Dominion over us and all that is ours if we do not accept God.

HettiePetal · 16/11/2013 20:44

But that I could sin at all means that evil exists in Heaven. Satan is responsible for evil & sin, don't forget. Who do we blame if he's not there?
