Actually, I am being really unreasonable. However I would like to ask those who have experienced Angel Feathers to....

...answer a few questions that I have.

1). What does it feel like when you see that feather?

2). What are your thoughts when this happens?

And

3). What would you say are the long term (if any) effects that you would attribute to these encounters.

I understand that this belief has been the subject of some ridicule here. I have no intention of ridiculing anyone. This thread has been inspired by a previous AIBU thread, but is not a thread about a thread. I am not a journalist. I am not seeking results to use in an academic submission or publication. What I am seeking is knowledge and understanding in the hope that I can use it to help others.

IABU for the following reasons:
I only posted in AIBU for the traffic. If MN rule that I have breached guidelines, can it be moved and not deleted.

And I ask the skeptics not to put people off answering honestly. If you think it necessary, I can start another thread for all your thoughts to be discussed. Perhaps the scientifically minded of you could look at this as an information gathering excersise.Smile

What do you mean by repent?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:05

Oh head are you telling me you never have? I suppose definition of adult is a moot point. It's a while ago now. I not about to publicly air out all my dirty washing though....

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:07

Repent means change your mind and accept the Redemption available through Christ.

head I cannot be specific. I am not God. Christ is good, follow His teaching.

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:10

What's the difference between an adult throwing a tantrum because things aren't going their way and god drowning people because things aren't going his way?

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:12

I have no good reason to think the gospel is true beyond any of the other religions. Why would I accept it's message?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:13

God is good. We don't understand all his actions. Evil occurrences are not from God but from Satan.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:14

Repent means change your mind and accept the Redemption available through Christ.

Would it shock you to learn that I, along with billions of others, have repented without reference to christ?

BackOnlyBriefly · 16/11/2013 20:14

sublimelime don't mean to pester you on it and you are not required to respond, but you could have missed it in the flurry of posts. It's open to anyone to answer anyway.

We established that those millions on earth who had given themselves to christ were not at the moment perfect and incapable of sin. So the question is:

Does god do something to people on arriving in heaven to prevent them ever sinning again in heaven?

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:14

How do you know evil isn't from god?

Golddigger · 16/11/2013 20:15

headinhands always tries to tie people in knots. That is her raison d'etre. She is not remotely interested in the answers.

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:15

Not true repentance though garlic....We are victims of the Fall and have a sin nature until we accept Christ.

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:16

If you don't understand some of his actions how can you assert he is good? It suggest that some of his actions seem evil yet you still choose to think they are good?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:16

Goldigger That is possible, I'm forever hopeful though. Who knows?

HettiePetal · 16/11/2013 20:17

Tantrums are evil behaviour. The toddler is not

So - child abuse is evil behaviour, but the abuser is not evil?

Who is responsible for all the non-man made horror in the world - ebola virus, hurricanes, earthquakes, cancer?

Satan?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:17

head Oh this is going to get circular. I know through Faith.

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:18

Hettie Yes.

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:20

back We have our Resurrection bodies in Heaven. Any remnant of sin is falls away.

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:20

Say a good, friend who you've know for years starts to drown the odd child here and there, do you think

a, he's still a great guy but I don't understand why he is drowning children or
b, anyone/anything (who is morally accountable) who drowns children isn't perfect/good etc.

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:21

^falls away. Typo.

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:21

So when the remnant of sin falls away are we still capable of sin? Will we have free will to sin?

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:24

head I would not understand a murderer. I would probably believe they have somehow become ill. There is still chance for their Redemption. Indeed there was a murderer next to Jesus, being crucified alongside Him, who repented and was Saved.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:24

We are victims of the Fall and have a sin nature

See, lime, I believe the exact opposite. We are all innately perfect, as is all life. When we "sin" or do unpleasant things, it's due to a confusion or misapprehension in us - we're all capable of being temporarily blemished. But doing unpleasant things causes us discomfort in some way; this is evidence of our inbuilt knowledge of being perfect :)

sublimelime · 16/11/2013 20:24

head We will have free will but will not want to sin because we will be one with God.

garlictrivia · 16/11/2013 20:25

Sorry, head's questions are more interesting. I'll butt out with my DIY irreligious buddhist principles Wink

headinhands · 16/11/2013 20:26

I spend a lot of time checking my own thinking for knots, knots usually show where I have cognitive dissonance.
