Just posted on Facebook by a poet friend of mine

The whistles could be heard
Along the trenches below
The young men weren't ready
But they had to go
Some held photos
Of loved ones back home
They charged together
Yet died alone
The bulkets n bombs
rang loud in their heads
Yet forward they ran
Running over the dead
A war against tyranny and for freedom they fought
A price was to be paid
Yet could never be bought
But their actions
Should be remembered
Even tho with regret
By wearing The Poppy
LEST WE FORGET

By Billy Isherwood

Love this poem......it's been in his head several days and this morning was finally written down.

No we shall not. We shall follow Thorn and Clam and all the other sentient (still) folks out of here. Chin chin Wine and I don't even drink the stuff Grin

Wallison · 11/11/2013 21:27

There are loads of cheap shots on this thread, none of them from Geckos.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 11/11/2013 21:28

((joins conga))

Geckos48 · 11/11/2013 21:28

What the actual fuck!

Where have I 'called others out in a cheap manner'

I haven't started a conversation with ANY of you, nor have I pulled up other threads, or said anything personally attacking to ANY of you.

This is fucking bizarre.

Geckos48 · 11/11/2013 21:29

And that is across the board by the way, I've not done that on ANY thread I have ever been on.

This is so bizarre

MoominsYonisAreScary · 11/11/2013 21:30

Fucking hell, I dont think there is any need to bring a thread abouts someones dc up like that

Geckos48 · 11/11/2013 21:35

Of course there isn't, and that these people are actually PROUD of themselves, whilst telling ME I shouldn't train to be a social worker!

It's like the fucking twilight zone it really is.

WilsonFrickett · 11/11/2013 21:37

Dudes, time for the hide thread.

Now if you fancied starting a sans poppy alternative one... That might be good ;)

Only if ours can have Kevin bacon in it though.

WilsonFrickett · 11/11/2013 21:42

Kevin Bacon is always in my congas! How could you not know this about me? maybe because you don't keep a spreadsheet Grin

higgle · 12/11/2013 13:12

Just to flag up that it is not generally considered good form to have a moan about people on one thread on another. Keep smiling Geckos, I share nearly all your views and consider myself a pretty staid character.

Geckos48 · 12/11/2013 13:57

Thanks higgle :)
