Aisles of random tat that appear in shops at Christmas....

AIBU to be a bit sad about it? BHS usually excel in it, I noticed today Asda had an aisle of it.

It's all so, well, crap.

I wouldn't buy any of it for anyone-it looks like you went down the random Christmas tat aisle and bought the first thing you saw. Who buys it?

Ban all this tat and you go towards solving the recycling/ landfill problem...

And this goes for all tat, not just Christmas. I always argue that the recycling problem could be 'solved' by the manufacturers. By they time it gets to the consumer it is too late.

Oh and yes I agree that who would buy it anyway?

God, yes, BHS are the worst offenders, every single year. It makes me laugh cos they market themselves as fairly naice but their Christmas stuff would make Del Boy think twice!

I was going add that giving someone some of that crap proves that you havent given their gift any thought at all, which is a great message to send to certain people!

I always end up with one of those mini bottles of wine with a few chocolates and a mini crappy bottle of wine. They cost about 7 quid, you. Can get a decent bottle of wine for that.

My dsis has been given some of this tat at work before now. She even passed one set on to me. Teeny tiny bottle of Baileys (probably a mouthful in it), three chocolates and a mahoosive mug! She doesn't like Bailey's so we still don't know why she was given it.

Better than when her ex MIL gave her some chocolate body paint though

Absolutely not sparkling, the first place that would head is the bin if I received it as a present (or charity shop).

I decided early on that my kids stockings were going to have useful stuff in not piles of tatt - it took me a couple of years to work out that we would soon end up with a houseful of rubbish. My one regret about doing nice birthday parties for them is the piles of gifts we had to home!
