Single, 28, basic admin job, and living with my parents.

I really want a baby. I have been broody for years and it is getting to the point where holding other people's babies hurts.

Yabvu. You can't afford it.

You need to increase your earnings first so that you don't get pregnant knowing that you will have to claim benefits to be able to afford to feed it.

There's a reason why it takes two to have a baby.

Um, terrible idea really. You're way too young to start panicking. Focus on getting a decent career so you can support a child, and finding a partner so the baby will have a family.

It's worth noting that the chances of carrying a baby to term, delivering the baby and that baby being healthy and surviving are pretty much the same at 37 as they are at 27.

Fertility/age stats, as published pretty much every bloody where, are quite misleading.

Its up to you op. Would your parents help out with childcare whilst you work. Nursery is pretty expensive. Fwiw, one of my friends did the same as you, although she was a bit older. She now has two kids, single mum, very happy.

Although its good to have a role model, that doesn't have to be a father. It can be a reacher, a relative, a neighbor, a friend. All are equally valid role models.
