"I am not very good with people and their general signs of existence tbh"

Ha! I recognise that feeling Grin

AgentZigzag · 19/10/2013 20:15

Yup, I'm with ShowOf too.

Apart from the threat of having my brains served as a starter, I'd be totally fine with the after effects of Zombie Apocalypse, (if DH/DDs survived too).

JustThisOnceOrTwiceOrThrice · 19/10/2013 20:41

Unfortunately in my line of work having someone peering over my shoulder at my screen is quite common. I always thought i was a weirdo for hating it so much. Makes me feel all invaded. A quiet desk in the corner and being left alone all day and Im happy Grin

Me ex's mum used to chew in a way that left me speechless the first time I saw it.
Instead of her jaw moving side to side like most peoples, her jaw moves from front to back, opening her mouth on each chew and showing you the contents of her mouth. To give you the benefit of the full experience, she also does it whilst talking. In gaps in conversation she sits slack jawed with food just hanging about in her mouth....
I think I need I lie down now after thinking about that.

Chesntoots. Shit! Shock

Chesntoots · 19/10/2013 20:58

Lovely woman, but, my God, there was no way I could share a table with her.

NachoAddict · 19/10/2013 21:14

I have this too. Eating noises bother me a lot but the sound of people breathing makes me so mad. There is no reason what so ever to make any noise whilst breathing, it is a silent activity.

I was once in the doctors and a poor man was having terrible breathing difficulties but it was giving me the rage, it was all I could hear and I nearly just left the surgery.

I know it is me being unreasonable but it really really annoyed me.

busyboysmum · 19/10/2013 21:17

Just wanted to join in, this thread has made me happy - there are others out there like me. I have never mentioned to dh the rage his various habits sends me into as thought it was just me being v unreasonable. He can't breathe through his nose so does noisy eating and snoring, the loud sneeze thing.... all make me stabby and I have to leave the room. I've invested in ear plugs for bedtime which has made sleeping a lot easier.

I also hate anyone leaning over me or reading over my shoulder or otherwise invading my space.

I think I've inherited this from my dad who couldn't bear the sound of my mum eating an apple, mind you to hear him slurp his soup was absolute torture to me...

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 19/10/2013 21:34

It's nice to be amongst other weirdos friends :)

The thing I hate the most is people speaking/eating loudly in my ear (ie leaning over my shoulder) - I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them not to do it - but for some reason my Mum takes it very personally . It actually hurts and makes me recoil and she gets all humphy about it

I have been triumphantly reading these out to my DH to prove its not just me and I'm not a maniac!
I once sat on a 3 hour car ride with a family member eating slavering over boiled sweets. To this day the memory makes me boil with rage!

Don't even get me started on fucking chewing gum and peoples need to roll that shit around open mouths!!!

Kaluki · 20/10/2013 17:14

I have the personal space thing too. If someone I'm bit close to gets too close to me I freeze and can't breathe! I thought I was wierd!!!
