Actually DH met John's Dad the other day and he was lovely and incredibly proud of him.

I like Kimberley. She just comes across as uncomplicated, which doesn't always work well on TV. Her cakes always look lovely and tasty.

And Ruby's supposed lack of confidence - why enter a televised competition if you're so lacking in confidence?

That's how long it just took me to twig that you were talking about GBBO and not Emmerdale. I was thinking, "eh? Who bakes in Emmerdale?"

MilkJug last night was the first time i even noticed them wearing the same things two days straight.

isnit really cold in the tent? i'dve thought it would be roasting with all the ovens on. her jacket doesn't bother me as much as her not so sunny disposition i just can't see how it's comfy.

For god's sake! It's like some of you have never heard of the concept of editing. They're in the tent for two days per episode, which is chopped down to probably 40 minutes of actual baking footage, shared between the three. I am sure that Ruby cracked at least one smile in all that time and even if she didn't - well, it seems like quite a high pressure environment, people frequently bawl their eyes out on that show, so personally I don't blame her for feeling it.

I don't really care who wins, it's been a pretty lack lustre series overall, no amazing contestants. And yes, I'm still angry that Brendan was robbed last year!

I think Ruby's voice lets her down, it's so monotone and droney, I think she sounds just like Katie Price actually.

I wanted Brendan to win too, squoosh! People were very mean about him, I remember.

I've just realised that I may be harbouring a grudge against people complaining about how miserable Ruby looks - as someone whose screensaver face is also slightly on the grumpy side, I've had more than my fair share of "cheer up, love"s. I don't understand this expectation that we should all go round grinning inanely all the time.

It's not the fact that Ruby is flappy and anxious, tbh most of them are, it's the whole ' Oh look at how awful that is' but I know it's good really and I just want you to say it and if you don't I'll look all soppy and sulky

She looks like she's used to getting her own way and is a proper sulky Nora if things don't go her way imo.

Kimberly to win!

When Kimberley gets negative feedback she does that face as if to say "I'm acknowledging what you're saying, but you're wrong". It's as if she can't quite believe anyone is saying anything negative about her baking.

I think it's the face I make when I am trying not to cry if someone dislikes something I have done, I recognised it instantly

What's key is the element of surprise that she's not bothering to conceal. "Really? It wasn't perfect? How odd, what a strange thing for you to say."

Agreed on the denim jacket thing. Anyone cooking with long sleeves makes me feel a bit boaky, I hate the first round on Masterchef when people are cooking in jumpers.

Ruby does act like she is surprised she made something it is if she thinks she has just wandered in and started baking she also says she just faffsabout baking at home give it a rest ruby

Brendan does do his cooking with old people thing. I'm sure he wrote about it in his blog.

The bird house was perfection and Mary sneered at it!

Last night it seemed to be Mary pushing for Ruby I thought, I dont mind who wins now, they are all a bit meh. I dont think its been that good this series. I`m waiting for the sewing bee now instead.

The problem with Brendan was practically everything he cooked was 70's style. If GBBO started 35 years ago he would have walked it.

With regard to Ruby, I think the main reason I can't stand her is the fact that her whimpering is so unsporting. Poor Becca is leaving and there Ruby is sniverling and and making cow eyes. It just all screams "Look at me! Look at me!".
