to really fucking love MN.

I mean really.

I can't adequately express it, actually. I have met my best friends here. I laughed and cried and celebrated and commiserated here. It's been about seven years, I think, which makes you all my longest ever relationship (I met you a week before I met DH).

A rl friend linked the fucking Penis Beaker thing from FB earlier and it gave me the rage (apols to penis beaker OP) because I am so protective and proud of you all. I don't like that we are known for penis beakery and not known for being the wonderful warm place I love.

You lot held my hand when [http://justsomestuffaboutus.wordpress.com/2013/10/12/im-going-to-write-the-shit-out-of-it/ this shit happened]] and I wouldn't have coped without you. You raged with me when I needed to vent about my cunty ex. You slapped my virtual arse when I was a dickhead (often). You've even banned me once or twice. But my love for you (collective you, all eleventy million of you plus MNHQ) has never wavered.

So I just wanted to say that I love you all. Some more than others Wink, but you are all part of the rich tapestry of my wonderful Mumsnet so it's a general love-in.

ThanksThanksThanks

You soppy twat

IamtheZombie · 12/10/2013 23:08

HoneyDragon has never called Zombie a twat.

TheDoctrineOfSpike · 12/10/2013 23:12

You're a twat, Zombie.

IamtheZombie · 12/10/2013 23:17

Thank you, Doctrine. Zombie feels better now. Grin

HereComesHoneyBooBooDragon · 12/10/2013 23:22

You daft lovely twat zombies.

Erm .....sorry 'bout that

BIWI · 12/10/2013 23:23

I love MN too.

My name - originally BecauseImWorthIt - was inspired by the realisation (having been on MN for a few weeks with a 'mum' name, before I saw the light) that I was in danger of allowing myself to be subsumed by other people. By my DH and by my business partner. Neither of whom are horrible people by any stretch of the imagination, but because I am someone who easily tends to defer to others. And having read around the boards suddenly recognised that I had to stand up for myself and acknowledge that I have skills/capabilities that are all mine and that I should be proud of them.

Since then I have also met and enjoyed the friendship of some fabulous women.

I've strengthened my belief/commitment to feminism.

I've learnt new skills - such as knitting and running.

And I'm proud to have contributed to things like the MN Christmas appeal and Woolly Hugs.

But more than all of this [selfish emoticon] you all make me laugh, learn, live and (sometimes) cry.

I get so much out of you all. This truly does feel like a place where I can get any kind of support that I might need, as well as the best kind of entertainment.

Hopefully I return that favour.

I bloody love you all. (Trolls excepted, obviously).

Portofino · 12/10/2013 23:25

Zombie, I am even going to get over my cuddle aversion for your sake.

IamtheZombie · 12/10/2013 23:28

BIWI, Zombie feels much the same as you do. MN has helped her build up the confidence to be herself and to start to stand up for herself.

IamtheZombie · 12/10/2013 23:29

Porto, Zombie understands that not everyone is a hugger or cuddler. A pat on the back is also good.

Fairenuff · 12/10/2013 23:36

Some of the trolls are not 'alf bad neither. They give us a good a laugh and something to reminisce about

< thinks fondly of Brian >

< inadvertently thinks of Brian fondling >

< rushes off to bleach brain >

< thinking of brain, fondly remembers Brian >

aaaargh!

HereComesHoneyBooBooDragon · 12/10/2013 23:38

I am always amazed how much stronger I have become by sharing this space of the interwebz with other women and the occasional Menz.

And as BIWI states I appear to have become a better person through dicking around on a forum.

blondieminx · 12/10/2013 23:38

I love it here too.

I love it for cake-related hilarity and all the other random nonsense that has us screaming with laughter, and I love it for the kindness and support which mumsnetters show to one another (whether that be advice in the wee small hours, Woolly Hugs, all the support on the Relationships board or more practical help like driving to the aid of a mumsnetter).

You all rock Smile

BustyDeLaGhetto · 12/10/2013 23:41

Not sure if she is still posting but Pinot absolutely and utterly saved my life when I had a nervy breaker a couple of years ago and was struggling with PND, AD's and general real life fuckery foo.

Really. This site Saved. My. Life. No word of a lie.

HardFacedCareeristBitchNigel · 12/10/2013 23:42

I love MN. It has been instrumental in changing some fairly rigid views i held on certain subjects and i feel as if it had played a fundamental role in making me consider other points of view.

IamtheZombie · 12/10/2013 23:44

Pinot isn't here any more, BustyDeLaGhetto, but Zombie will let her know.

BustyDeLaGhetto · 12/10/2013 23:47

Aw Zombie if you could that would be wonderful. She wouldn't know it but she was absolutely instrumental in my recovery. I hope she is well and happy and you too, I know you've had a rough time.

CatelynStark · 12/10/2013 23:49

I've only been on here for a couple of years and don't really post very much but am always reading, nodding or getting the rage at the weirdos Grin

What I love about this place is that it shows me that I wasn't completely bonkers during my two dreadful marriages and that I was right to end them and that it's bloody marvellous to be on my own with my children, living a boring but happy life.

Sometimes, I read something that triggers a huge reaction in me and I have to go off and have a little think about things - I'm a bit wary of posting personal stuff, having been outed on several other forums. Maybe one day, I'll feel able to share a bit more. I'm getting there, thanks to you bunch of wankbadgers :)

IamtheZombie · 12/10/2013 23:50

Thanks, Busty. Zombie has sent her a link to your post. As far as Zombie knows she is indeed well. As for Zombie, she's getting there.

TheDoctrineOfSpike · 12/10/2013 23:52

Nice one, Catelyn.

I have become very feminist thanks to mumsnet, and also met the most amazing atrocious cunts in the world.

HappyHalloweenMollyHooper · 13/10/2013 00:15

I haven't RTFT.

However I just wanted to say that the recent bullying and anti-MN threads baffle me.

I have a 3 month old and a 6 year old with dyspraxia who wakes up 3 times a night on a good night. I have PND, no friends and a family that ridicules depression.

You are all my life line and you are all important, at least to me.

Be it a thread about This Morning by Sparkling, one of SPs funny threads or someone struggling like me. I come here every morning and it helps me a lot.

Thanks. you big bum headed bitchplopping atrocious cunts

IamChristmas · 13/10/2013 00:28

Group hug :)

Reality · 13/10/2013 11:53

Has PInot left?

Why? I assumed she'd namechanged.

Waaaail.
