to really fucking love MN.

I mean really.

I can't adequately express it, actually. I have met my best friends here. I laughed and cried and celebrated and commiserated here. It's been about seven years, I think, which makes you all my longest ever relationship (I met you a week before I met DH).

A rl friend linked the fucking Penis Beaker thing from FB earlier and it gave me the rage (apols to penis beaker OP) because I am so protective and proud of you all. I don't like that we are known for penis beakery and not known for being the wonderful warm place I love.

You lot held my hand when [http://justsomestuffaboutus.wordpress.com/2013/10/12/im-going-to-write-the-shit-out-of-it/ this shit happened]] and I wouldn't have coped without you. You raged with me when I needed to vent about my cunty ex. You slapped my virtual arse when I was a dickhead (often). You've even banned me once or twice. But my love for you (collective you, all eleventy million of you plus MNHQ) has never wavered.

So I just wanted to say that I love you all. Some more than others Wink, but you are all part of the rich tapestry of my wonderful Mumsnet so it's a general love-in.

ThanksThanksThanks

Portofino · 12/10/2013 19:46

Everlong I meant.

Hullygully · 12/10/2013 19:50

I can tolerate a few people on MN, sometimes.

I wouldn't go further than that.

IamChristmas · 12/10/2013 19:50

Oooh I might just do that! Will have a look at the thread, thanks :)

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/10/2013 19:53

You want heartwarming?

MN and MNers have been there in my darkest moments. I believe I posted when I experienced the harrowing shame of utterly fucking up filling my new car at a petrol pump, and when I discovered half a spider nestling amongst the blueberries I'd been eating without looking at them.

Seriously, I do love that when something embarrassing happens to me, me first proud thought is that I can go make a twat of myself by repeating it to an audience of thousands of strangers. It's great.

whattodoo · 12/10/2013 19:59

I love it here too.

I feel very protective of MN and hate it when it gets slagged off. Although at least when it does it might be deterring others from joining.

It often feels like a 'special' place. Where its safe and nurturing. I've not made friends with any other posters but often smile when I see certain posters' posts.

I've been advised when in a dark place, inspired by generosity, my wrinkles have been exacerbated by too much laughter and I've trialed the odd cleaning product or kitchen gizmo.

MN feels like my type of place.

Heh heh heh LRD Grin

Porto - last got in touch a couple of years ago. She's living her life and doing week with the kids. I've left the door open but I don't want to force me on her iyswim - she might want to forget all of that but not want to tell me so?

DameFanny · 12/10/2013 20:00

Doing well. Sodding phone.

Hully, you are such a tease.

dontcallmehon · 12/10/2013 20:18

God, yes.Mumsnet has been there through the dark times and given me a kick up the bottom when needed (often!)

ScarletLady02 · 12/10/2013 21:06

I'd love to come to a meet up too...I'm in Essex, London is easy for me.

IamtheZombie · 12/10/2013 21:08

There's a link to the 30 November London meet up about a dozen or so posts back, ScarletLady02.

carben · 12/10/2013 21:19

I only looked at this because I misread it as MIL ! Now that would have been interesting.

Reality · 12/10/2013 21:22

I do actually really fucking love my MIL as well. DH went round earlier to see her and came back with a cheque for £2k 'to spend on nice things'.

Today is a very warm and fuzzy day all round, really.

I was a bit choked up by it. It will pay for our already booked but as yet unpaid for holiday to Disneyland Paris next year.

Which is a stroke of luck because I had no idea how were were going to pay for it otherwise....

Wow that is brilliant! What a top mil!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/10/2013 21:56

Oooooo how fab. You will have a great time, even better now!

Shaky · 12/10/2013 21:57

I am another one addicted to MN.

I bloody love you lot of atrocious cunts.

I have been on this site every day since I first joined last year. The first thread that I posted on was The Olympic Closing Ceremony thread. It was awesome and I was hooked.

I have laughed, cried, been shocked, humbled and most importantly, learned NEVER, EVER google anything Grin

InTheRedCorner · 12/10/2013 22:02

MN have helped me through a horrid kidney stone - jacksmania was a star from the other side of the world who was always awake during the quieter times of the early hours.

And some horrible RL relationship crap - Hissy Missy & the forever frank and brilliant AnyFucker

I've tried to post support and kindness but mainly posted bollocks and nonsense and always been allowed back in Grin

I can't imagine a day without checking in, without MN I would still be an emotional slave to my mother.

Portofino · 12/10/2013 22:21

Your MIL gave you 2 grand! Shock I have only met mine twice, and the last time (at BILs funeral) she didn't even recognise dh. She said to dsil, "oh I wish MrPorto was here" to which dsil responded "He is sat next to you, you daft old bat" I was a bit Hmm

reelingintheyears · 12/10/2013 22:43

Can't stand a bar of any of youse
