to really fucking love MN.

I mean really.

I can't adequately express it, actually. I have met my best friends here. I laughed and cried and celebrated and commiserated here. It's been about seven years, I think, which makes you all my longest ever relationship (I met you a week before I met DH).

A rl friend linked the fucking Penis Beaker thing from FB earlier and it gave me the rage (apols to penis beaker OP) because I am so protective and proud of you all. I don't like that we are known for penis beakery and not known for being the wonderful warm place I love.

You lot held my hand when [http://justsomestuffaboutus.wordpress.com/2013/10/12/im-going-to-write-the-shit-out-of-it/ this shit happened]] and I wouldn't have coped without you. You raged with me when I needed to vent about my cunty ex. You slapped my virtual arse when I was a dickhead (often). You've even banned me once or twice. But my love for you (collective you, all eleventy million of you plus MNHQ) has never wavered.

So I just wanted to say that I love you all. Some more than others Wink, but you are all part of the rich tapestry of my wonderful Mumsnet so it's a general love-in.

ThanksThanksThanks

DameFanny · 12/10/2013 15:33

I find the easiest way to avoid people rubbishing MN on other sites is to not bother with other sites. HTH.

TEErickOrTEEreat · 12/10/2013 15:33

I don't like MN at all.

That's why I've been here 5 years next Saturday and I know I've been here 5 years next Saturday.*

*It is actually marked in my diary. Grin

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/10/2013 15:37

Oh I love you all too, I suppose.

Fairenuff · 12/10/2013 15:37

I never truly realised how genuinely, brilliantly clever, funny, compassionate and brave women are 'til I met you lot.

I also didn't realise how fantastic my dh is (but don't tell him I said that) Grin

I had a long running thread in Relationships and everyone over there was very supportive. Occasionally threads do 'go wrong' and an OP gets an unreasonably hard time. But you could always name-change and try again. Generally though OP, I think you will get out of MN what you put in. As illustrated by the way that this thread has gone for you.

GhastlyMoiraKroesig · 12/10/2013 15:40

I love you reality, you twat, you. This is a lovely thread.

MatildaWhispers · 12/10/2013 15:44

Oh, sorry, wrong thread - somehow I thought I was posting on the polar opposite thread about how shit MN is!

MatildaWhispers · 12/10/2013 15:44

Though my point above still applies - I love MN too!

lionheart · 12/10/2013 15:44

No question, mumsnet is very ace. Smile

Yanbu but if you were, an awful lot of us would tell you so ...

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 12/10/2013 15:49

You lot are life savers and make my life better. MN rah rah rah!

CakeBotherer · 12/10/2013 15:49

ps my cake throwing comes from a place of love (tis the cake I wasted on that mn hating cow last night). Nothing better than a good food fight.

ScarletLady02 · 12/10/2013 15:50

Thanks Gloves

DameFanny - I'm thinking of stopping with that site, they've really pissed me off with a recent handling of a situation. I rarely post now, but I have met some lovely people on there.

Thinking about it actually...I met the "friend" who my DH decided to fuck this week on NetMums...that's only just occurred to me. Bunch of cunts the lot of 'em

One thought ... I was only a fledgling feminist until I found MN.
Now, like Fairenuff I really appreciate women Flowers - especially you lot Grin And have learnt so much should have done the hours I've put in Blush

KatieScarlett2833 · 12/10/2013 15:55

MN has vastly improved my self esteem.
I have bought loads of stuff discussed on S&B with people who know their stuff. Unlike me. I hate clothes shopping and have no taste. MN has transformed my wardrobe, skin care routine and opened up the wonderful world of online shopping.
People actually stop me and ask where I bought x item.
That never happened once before, even in my nubile years GrinGrinGrin

Spelt · 12/10/2013 16:22

Me too.

TheGlovesAreOrf · 12/10/2013 16:33

What site Scarlet?

Wanky?

ScarletLady02 · 12/10/2013 16:36

Naah Netmums. I stopped with Wanky when all the lovely Debates ladies buggered off here Grin

I wish you all lived in my village. One hell of a village that would be.

Plus you could all come round and kick the bejeezus out of my dp when he's being a twat. What's that you say? -In that case you'd all have to move in as he's a twat ALL the time? Oh go on then

I heart MN

Reality · 12/10/2013 18:42
