Would you leave your baby unattended in their buggy

...while you use the loo?

On another thread I mentioned not being able to get a buggy into a small cubicle and the suggestion was to leave baby outside.

Would I be overly precious in thinking 'No, I wouldn't do that'?

OP posts:
Spikeytree · 21/08/2013 21:06

I don't think I'm the only one who thinks you are selfish, Ilovemyself, but if it makes you feel better to take it out on me, I can cope.

I do have to leave the thread for a while, though, because I am a carer and I have to go get my mum to bed. I'll check back later.

Ilovemyself · 21/08/2013 21:07

Candycoated. I agree totally. But if there is no other option? And by that I do mean I do not find it acceptable to leave my children or my property unattended.

Lets hope that in a few years there are separate parent and child loos ( including changing facilities) and disables loos. It would make life a whole lot easier for everyone.

DropYourSword · 21/08/2013 21:09

K8 Oh and that may be what you inferred Drop (possibly because you are determined to see anyone who disagrees with you on the disabled loo point as wrong about everything? A rather simplistic view and not one I have found to be typical of other people)but was certainly not implied

If you bothered to actually get your facts correct you would find that absolutely nowhere in this thread have I even implied I thought it was OK to abuse the use of a disabled toilet. Why you even think that's my viewpoint is beyond me. I have simply expressed that I can understand why mums would not want to leave their baby unattended and can understand their concern of their baby being taken. Why would you automatically assume that this means I think it's OK for them to use a disabled toilet?! I have simply answered the OP which mentions nothing about disabled toilet usage, which was brought up later in the thread.

Acer12 I laugh at your histrionic argument

candycoatedwaterdrops · 21/08/2013 21:09

Ilovemyself You could lift your child out of their buggy, an adult cannot be lifted out of their wheelchair (without a hoist).

GobbySadcase · 21/08/2013 21:13

I'm hoping the selfish fuckers around here get a big dose of karma and gain some insight into why their actions do severely restrict the lives of disabled people.

Dawndonnaagain · 21/08/2013 21:15

Dawndonna's dd here. Again.
My twin has a boyfriend. Part of the reason is she will never stink of piss. My sister has a boyfriend because she's funny and beautiful and clever. I don't. I know that one day I will, I can be funny and clever too, but I will often be a bit smelly and sometimes I'll be very smelly.
It's quite a responsibility taking me out too, I need to know in advance where all the loos are. I need a bag with a full change of clothes along with a change of cushion cover if I'm taking my chair. You have no idea what it's like to be out with a group of friends and to have to ask one of them to help you change out of your piss soaked clothes, hold you up whilst you wash yourself in a grotty sink so that your skin doesn't end up burning you to fuck later on. You have no idea how much you worry when your wet clothes are sealed in a bag, as to whether you or they can be smelt, it can ruin a day/evening, constantly worrying whether or not you reek of piss. You have no idea how many times I've come home early and cried myself to sleep because of it.

You have no idea.

I'm glad u get enjoyment from it! Fanjo ! Grin Grin

GobbySadcase · 21/08/2013 21:17

Oh but they're 'not hurting anyone' DDD.

(((DDD))) selfish arseholes

Ilovemyself · 21/08/2013 21:17

I understand all of the issues, candy coated. But if I have to get all 3 out (assuming they are awake) and then leave the buggy it's self unattended it is not as simple as it could be.

It's simple. Bring back the radar key and be done with it.

Brilliant post, Dawn's DD Smile

olidusUrsus · 21/08/2013 21:19

It's simple. Bring back the radar key and be done with it.

Wouldn't need keys if certain selfish fuckers understood what it means to be disabled, in need of a loo and not able to access it because of said certain selfish fuckers.

5madthings · 21/08/2013 21:21

Aww poor you having to leave your buggy... That nothing compared to what will happen to the person who really needed to use the disabled toilet but couldn't because you were using it.

Did you even read the post by dawnadonnas dd?!!

DDD, I am sorry you have to be inconvenienced by stupid fuckwits xxx and good luck for tomorrow xxxx

IneedAsockamnesty · 21/08/2013 21:22

Dawndonna' dd

Can I please say how much I admire your posts and find them helpful. I have 3 children who as well as being none verbal have several personal care issues.

Quite a few times your posts have made me more aware of things they may be feeling but are unable to express and have set me on a path to finding a solution or doing my best to. So thank you for often reminding me teenagers often have different worries than adults.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 21/08/2013 21:22

dawndonna's DD Flowers for you. I hope your words have an impact on those people who make your life harder for their own selfish reasons. I believe you're getting GCSE results tomorrow, so the very best of luck to you. :)

littlemisswise · 21/08/2013 21:24

Thank you for your post Dawn'sDD.Smile I am sorry selfish pigs in society make you have to go through that. (Hugs) and good luck with your GCSE results tomorrowxx

Lets go round and round in fucking circles olidus. And if there was suitable fucking facilities we wouldn't have to. Simple as. But as it is, there are facilities which, on the very rare occasion I really need them I will use. Not at the expense of all others. If anyone is coming I would check if they needed it first and I would be as quick as possible. And on the few occasions I have done so I have only encountered 1 person trying to use them. In fact, I am
Trying to remember the last time I even saw someone go into them.

Given the post by dawndonna's DD, I'm surprised that you're still going on Ilovemyself, it speaks volumes!

olidusUrsus · 21/08/2013 21:32

Okay then, Ilovemyself. Did you read the last post by Donna at all? It was penned by her daughter.
