I obviously wash my hands after going in a public toliet, but at home I don't mind because I don't touch anything except the loo roll aibu?

I very rarely don't wash my hands as I don't wee that often and usually by the time I do, they are ready for a wash anyway.

I get your point though and it wouldn't horrify me to know you were one of my friends. The threadworms point is valid but they do tend to live in your arse; there are times when you wee and the paper blocks contact with everything - even the wee - on these occasions it wouldn't bother me if someone decided not to wash. If I touch my skin or any bodily secretions then I will always wash.

The things I come back to are:

  1. oral sex never killed me and most blokes' pubic areas are dodgy places when it comes to germs.
  2. I only ever get a bug when they are recognisably going round; all these things that live with us all the time never seem to do anything.
  3. to the poster that said about going on to do food prep after not having washed; I always wash my hands before doing that anyway.
loopydoo · 16/08/2013 10:18

Captainmummy.....I meant that when wiping, yes the wiped side of paper will obv be wet but not so it goes through to hands holding the paper ;)

loopydoo · 16/08/2013 10:21

If you thought about food handlers and how their handwashing after using the loo isn't policed, you would never eat out again.

OnTheBottomWithAWomensWeekly · 16/08/2013 11:06

Do y'all run and wash your hands/entire body after any kind of "intimate contact"? What about the scary fanjo/knob germs then?

ImNotBloody14 · 16/08/2013 11:15

will someone please answer my question!?

those who don't wash- did you teach your dcs to wash hands when toilet training?

Bunbaker · 16/08/2013 11:41

I wonder why the none hand washers refuse to answer that question?

GoodTouchBadTouch · 16/08/2013 11:54

I answered it way up thread before you asked!

Yes of course I teach the children too, cos they aren't so good at wiping, plus at school the loos are horrid.

Plus boys touch their willies to pee once they get to a certain age and start standing up...about 12 I guess

Misspixietrix · 16/08/2013 12:11

Sorry YABU. One of my Pet Hates (I'll admit I'm a self confessed Germophobe).

ExDh used to always do this too and say "well its only us that use it". He was next to the Sink. Why not wash his hands whilst he was in there?

I took DD to the Toilets at a Birthday Party earlier in the year (Bowling Alley), I stood there gobsmacked when I heard a nearby Loo Flush and watched a woman walk out the Cubicle and straight out the Door :0 ~

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 16/08/2013 12:49

To those who don't wash their hands, do you wash your hands after changing your children's nappies?

Wuxiapian · 16/08/2013 15:22

I've witnessed a fair few women leaving the ladies in restaurants without washing their hands. Don't they feel ashamed?!

WhiteandGreen · 16/08/2013 15:38

pobble mostly. If its a big shitty nappy then obviously yes. Otherwise maybe yes, maybe no.

I am not a germophobe.

WhiteandGreen · 16/08/2013 15:38

wux no.

FluffedUpFerretOnSteroids · 16/08/2013 15:40

I only don't wash if I havent touched anything and only in my own loo, plus I've never had any problems like thread worm. I can see why I am being unreasonable though

AmazingBouncingFerret · 16/08/2013 15:42

Well done FluffedUpFerret.

You have seen the light! Hurrah!

Now wash your fucking hands before you ever make me tea.

usualsuspect · 16/08/2013 16:02

Don't worry,OP.

MN is a bit bonkers about germs.

I reckon there's more germs on their keyboards, than your pissy hands.

LimburgseVlaai · 16/08/2013 16:37

Out of interest, to the frequent handwashers on here: do you wash your hands each time you blow your nose? Do you get your children to do so?

diddl · 16/08/2013 16:43

So is it OK to not wash your hands after a wee if wee hasn't come through the paper when you wiped yourself, you haven't flushed because it was night & the bathroom door is open so you have't touched that handle either??!!

ShoeWhore · 16/08/2013 16:52

I'm pretty relaxed about germs but not washing after going to the toilet is just grim. It takes no time at all!

I also thought threadworm. Small children pick it up really easily. So small child goes to toilet, wipes self, picks up threadworm egg on hand, transfers to handle when flushing and leaves it there for FluffedUp* when she cba to wash her hands after flushing the toilet.

*OK I accept likelihood of small child remembering to flush is pretty low Grin

ImNotBloody14 · 16/08/2013 16:53

yes limburgs doesn't everyone? Confused
