It's really really upset me, I've had some great support on this forum but I think I have to be off.

Such a shame.

OP posts:
hobnobsaremyfavourite · 13/08/2013 19:11

op you really should stop now

Tiredemma · 13/08/2013 19:11

As said earlier (on THE original now deleted thread)- I strongly suspect that more than half of the nobheads posting on there are not even in the forces.

I think (I could be wrong) that they are sad little wankers who sit around in their little bedsit, in fatigues purchased from the local Army & Navy store, wanking furiously to 'Ross kemp in Afghanistan'

Not worth our time- most of them are bullshitters.

WorraLiberty · 13/08/2013 19:14

Oh God OP are you sticking out your tongue while saying that?

Why not go the whole hog and call me a 'Meanie' instead?

candycoatedwaterdrops · 13/08/2013 19:19

I'm not Worra's friend but I still think you're being ridiculous.

Repeatedlydoingthetwist · 13/08/2013 19:21

What candycoated said. You are being a little oversensitive I feel. And if MN upsets you that much and is clearly continuing to upset you now then you probably should deactivate.

WorraLiberty · 13/08/2013 19:21

Then I won't be your friend either candy

You great big meanie pants

Abra1d · 13/08/2013 19:23

'One hundred and twenty thousand soldiers who act responsibly and wholy within the Geneva Convention - and a few fuckwits who may have acted disgustingly, but more likely are making up stories to tell on the Internet . . . almost certainly not in the military.

The Army is not full of "rapists, paedophiles and inhumane people". Society is full of "rapists, paedophiles and inhumane people" - because society isn't checked, background checked, double checked and psychologically tested. Soldiers are.'

Hear, hear LtEve.

Ilovemyteddy · 13/08/2013 19:30

Where do you put the code in? Do you have to register on their website first?

Ilovemyteddy · 13/08/2013 19:31

Argh wrong thread. Sorry all Blush

bassetfeet · 13/08/2013 19:31

Filee I read the thread this morning and remember the last time those trolls came visiting . Same old rubbish spouted then to get maximum shock from us here . Yawn .

I do understand how you feel . Something in a newspaper can trigger a loop of awful images in my head . It is hard to let them go and concentrate on the good life enhancing stuff . But we must do it ok?

I have never been in a war zone but read avidly so am not naive that atrocity happens far too often . But these are trolls Filee . Sad men or women who get kicks from making nice sensitive people like you feel upset . Their lives must be the pits frankly .

Worra hasnt been taking a pop at you .

When upset by some post I log onto the Wooly hugs thread and see how bloody fantastic mumsnet is . Lots of kindness and support there .

hope you are ok and can tell yourself to forget the drivel posted by someone out in the ether who has never seen a uniform in their sad little lives .
Flowers.

ShellyBoobs · 13/08/2013 19:34

Well, that is why nuts want to bomb our cities, surely there is little argument there. We go abroad, we cause shitloads of pain, disarray and death and then we wonder why we get attacked by terrorists.

That's no better than the shit posted by fucking rape apologists!

Terrorists don't kill and maim us because a few western soldiers are sick bastards. They do it because they're evil animals driven by utterly unreasonable ideals.

Have you gone yet, OP?

ipswichwitch · 13/08/2013 19:35

Nice to see certain people lumping my dad in with paedophiles, rapists and the like Hmm thanks for that.
Fwiw, he served in Korea and saw some truly nasty shit (perpetrated by both sides), but also said that many of those telling tales like those being talked about here, were some of the biggest liars and bullshitters going, who never got within 10 miles of any "action"

Yes those (bullshit) stories on the links are offensive, but so is the insinuation that all people in the armed forces are the same "inhumane people", so for that reason, I'm not going near ARRSE again, and taking worras fine advice to go and have a sandwich and forget all about it, because I'm gonna give mindless twats any more of my headspace.

You still buttering the bread worra?

softlysoftly · 13/08/2013 19:38

wanking furiously over Ross Kemp in Afghanistan

Thank fuck for tena lady

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 13/08/2013 19:49

still waiting for my bread worra :)

BramshawHill · 13/08/2013 20:00

I don't think justifying terrorism is really the answer here, OP. That's just a little unbelievably awful. No idea what this arse business is about, but reading your posts I'd suggest you take some time away from the internet for your own sake.

NiceTabard · 13/08/2013 20:01

If people have posted on the internet that they have committed rape or other serious crimes then that needs to be reported to the authorities and investigated.

Same as threats of rape and other forms of violence are starting to be looked into. A confession is surely at least as serious as a threat.

Secretswitch · 13/08/2013 20:02

Filee, you are seemingly going a bit ott. Please understand that many poster's here are or have been in the services. A great many certainly have loved one's in the forces. Perhaps you might be happier living in a country with no armed services. You can turn your worries else where.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 13/08/2013 20:17

I get upset by shit I read too, OP. I didn't read any links to ARRSE, having got the gist from subsequent posts. You have to try and detach, honestly you do, because otherwise you'll be a gibbering wreck on the floor. Some people are vile wankers, but thankfully the vast majority are not. Take comfort from that.

YouStayClassySanDiego · 13/08/2013 20:24

filee you have wrecked your own thread and revealed yourself to be similar in mindset to the idiots from aarse.

Idiot!

.

RabbitIssue · 13/08/2013 20:29

Genuine question:

I too clicked on one of the links and felt really upset and disturbed. I don't know whether what they were talking about really happened or not but made me feel like throwing up, so...

if there are posts on there saying that they are from people 'in the forces' who raped children while in the forces, is there no way of reporting that to the police?

Am I being stupid? Either they are in the forces but are lying and therefore bringing forces into disrepute and should be chucked out, are in the forces and it did happen in which case they should be in jail or aren't in the forces and it didn't happen but is obv some weird fantasy and therefore need reporting to the police?

It is a crime to talk about raping a child isn't it? Or isn't it? Not trying to be a nob, seriously would like to know.

poppingin1 · 13/08/2013 20:33

Oh do me a favour.

We all know that war damages many peoples mental health because of the things they see AND HAVE TO DO in order to survive. The mind set you have in any war setting is not normal, it increases the risks of mental health problems and can lead people to do the most unbelievably inhumane things.

Of course there are paedophiles and general fuckwits and psycho's in any society. But war is such an unnatural state that it warps the mind of previously mentally healthy people.

Human rights offences come to light all the time, we have no real way of keeping track of how army personnel conduct themselves beyond secondary information. There are so many cover ups that we don't know for a fact how soldiers truly behave and stories of human rights offences come to light all the time.

And yes, many people who bomb our cities do it out of revenge, out of feeling attacked and provoked. The OP is not wrong to say that.

Look, these are my opinions. I agree with the OP and I know from experience that views against the British military are greeted with disdain on MN so I knew this would be the reaction, I don't think the OP knew this

As I said, my own family have lived through and served in wars.

This website pretty much sums what I think up in their FAQ.

And remember everyone, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

LadyBeagleEyes · 13/08/2013 20:35

Rule No 1 on MN.
Never go on the ARSE website.
And they bloody love it when MN get involved, their posts just get worse as they have the attention they crave.
The last time there was a huge fracas, it didn't make the slightest bit of difference.
As for all those that say this is not the armed forces but trolls, I don't believe a word of it.

poppingin1 · 13/08/2013 20:37

And in case no one noticed, I clearly stated that I didn't think ALL MILITARY personnel behaved this way.

My feeling is as someone pointed out, MN is full of people who have served or are serving, or have close friends and family who have served or are serving. It makes for a very defensive and one sided discussion.

WorraLiberty · 13/08/2013 20:39

Hobnobs and Ipswich
