Have NC-d in case this isn't normal. Naice ham, gluezilla, yoni etc.

Do you wee in the shower? I never used to and would have thought it pretty disgusting. But since having DC things aren't as they used to be & now if I need to, I just go.

AIBU?

I hear all your arguments, but sorry, I still think it is disgusting and also lazy. I'll have to agree to disagree, you haven't tempted me to try it either.

fluffyraggies · 09/08/2013 10:30

lol, but you're stood naked in there needing a wee. The alternative is to run to the loo all wet. Or try and hold it.

I think if you truly believe weeing in the shower is going to make germs everywhere then YANBU not to do it, or course.

Myself i think the germs won't spread.

fluffyraggies · 09/08/2013 10:32

I have a thing about kitchen cloths. I go ballistic if it's not cleaned and dried properly after every use. Everyone has their 'thing' :)

RonBurgundysPanpipe · 09/08/2013 10:35

To wee or not to wee?

Definitely wee, why go through the hassle of leaving the shower, drying, weeing, wiping then getting back in. The percentage of trace urine left in the cubicle afterwards is probably minimal compared to the skin cells, sweat, hair, blood etc... that ends up in there over the course of a week.

themaltesefalcon · 09/08/2013 10:37

Yuck.

ShakeAndVac · 09/08/2013 10:39

That's absolutely fkn disgusting. How lazy do you actually have to BE to get your arse out of the shower and walk a few steps to the toilet?! Confused
I'm not some perfectly groomed, hygiene freak but even I can see that's vile.
That really does take the mingers biscuit.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 09/08/2013 10:41

it was the only way I could wee comfortably post-partum with dd1, so I did then. wouldn't consider it part of my regular shower routine though.

soontobeslendergirl · 09/08/2013 10:42

Personally I go before i get in the shower and if I forgot for some reason and needed, i can hold it for the few minutes it takes to get clean and dried. I prefer to go before rather than feeling that I have ruined my clean-ness by going to the toilet afterwards.

I also cannot have a shower without brushing my teeth first. It's a bit of a pain when on holiday and I have to brush them twice in the morning - once before my shower and then back to brush them after breakfast, whereas everyone else, showers, goes for breakfast and then back to the room for teeth brushing.......maybe I have ishooos :o

soontobeslendergirl · 09/08/2013 10:43

Ha ha re the kitchen cloths - I put mine in the microwave :o

BrianTheMole · 09/08/2013 10:49

Seeing as so many people do wee in the shower, then by definition it obviously is normal. I don't see a problem with it myself, but then I clean the bathroom and shower tray regularly anyway. So theres no germs lurking around here.

squoosh · 09/08/2013 10:55

When I had psoriasis I read that applying fresh wee to the affected skin would act as a miracle cure. It didn't.

My flatmate thought it was hilarious watching me daintily dab my own piss all over my body.

I would draw the line at drinking my own wee (unless I was in the desert) even though some people say it's the elixir of youth. Eeeeek!

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 09/08/2013 10:58

I'm a shower wee-er too. Only in the last 12 months though. Never occurred to me previously .... I quite enjoy it and can say, with experience, that a poo hidden in the shower run-off under the plug guard is a lot more revolting.

Yes, DS4 I am looking at you.

My advice to you is when your toddler tells you "I did poo. It's gone. I did it" check workings of the shower immediately. It is a bit of a fright to discover later in the day Shock

Having said that a bit of a clean and lots of cleaning products and the shower cubicle smelt lovely again.

Sallyingforth · 09/08/2013 11:09

Yes I often pee in the shower. Don't see any problem - it runs down my legs with the soapy shower water and is heavily diluted before it goes down the plughole. It's a separate cubicle, not over the bath - I might feel differently about that.
Those who think it's dirty - do you ever shower after sex? There will be more washing down there than just pee.

greensmoothiegoddess · 09/08/2013 11:16

See - here's the thing that eternally puzzles me about this place. Some people become SO overly offended or outraged. FFS - it's only a little weeing in the shower. We got the same on the washing hands thread. Today I have read that weeing in the shower is 'grim', 'fkn disgusting', 'lazy', 'vile', 'minger's biscuit', 'filthy', 'foul' etc. etc. Overreaction, much?

soontobeslendergirl · 09/08/2013 11:17

do you ever shower after sex? Of course, but I've usually been to the toilet and wiped etc first.

We are not talking here about stray germs and dirt that will be on our skin - i.e. we will all probably have tiny bits of wee on us even after wiping, we are talking here about have a full blown piss in the shower ........when you are probably a foot or so from an actual toilet...designed specifically to take our pee and poo.

soontobeslendergirl · 09/08/2013 11:20

green as I said up thread, I'll have to agree to disagree here and I guess we all have different standards. Only one person has said that despite being happy to wee in the shower she wouldn't be happy with weeing in the sink. So, maybe people find that acceptable too or maybe they don't.

Apart from not liking the idea, I just can't see why for most people it would even be necessary.

throckenholt · 09/08/2013 11:22

Does it matter ? Who is going to know one way or the other ? It washes straight down the drain - the same drain your toilet goes into. And as for dirty - urine is sterile and will immediately be diluted by the shower water.

soontobeslendergirl · 09/08/2013 11:22

I'm not offended or outraged btw - just surprised and confused at how many people do it and I do think it's gross.

Sallyingforth · 09/08/2013 11:24

What is the difference between wee going into the toilet bowl or down the shower tray hole? They end up in the same place, it's just that some of the pee may be washed down your legs, heavily diluted by the shower water.
I could suggest that it's actually more hygienic in the shower because you don't have to wipe with paper and then handle the basin taps to wash your hands.

greensmoothiegoddess · 09/08/2013 11:25

I just don't think it's 'that gross'. The reactions seem way disproportionate to the 'crime'. Ahh well. I'm off for a shower.

Sallyingforth · 09/08/2013 11:27

I'm going as well - pissed off with this thread :)

soontobeslendergirl · 09/08/2013 11:30

Well the water I drain in the sink from my potatoes goes to the same place that the toilet and the shower does, but i still wouldn't wee in the kitchen sink.

I bleach my toilet and clean it with a brush designed for the purpose, I don't bleach my shower tray or bath and i clean them with cloths held in my hand.

Ajl99 · 09/08/2013 11:31

If you wee in the shower, the water doesn't go into the sewer. Just a thought

greensmoothiegoddess · 09/08/2013 11:31

Oh god - let's not even go down the toilet brush road!

SoupDragon · 09/08/2013 11:32

If you wee in the shower, the water doesn't go into the sewer. Just a thought

Where do you think it goes then?
