fluckered · 01/08/2013 12:56

ooo I prefer Callmedreckly's one better.

Angelico · 01/08/2013 13:05

I have been known to put a 'x' on a support thread where someone really needs a hug. However I do not smooch indiscriminately.

WilsonFrickett · 01/08/2013 13:08

Zing Aw thx hunni, that was just what I needed xxx

fluckered so does 'make my teeth itch' make your teeth itch?

Forgetful but my ticker would say something along the lines of

[fuckcuntbadgersODFOD]

so wouldn't that be ok (hun)?

AlwaysWashing · 01/08/2013 13:10

What's the difference between sending a Mumsnet sanctioned bunch of flowers/wine/tea icon and a couple of supportive xx's or a "Hun".
Seriously. Get over it.

fluckered · 01/08/2013 13:13

lol Wilson yeah it does.

AlwaysWashing cos thems the rules! hun! (see? now ye don't know if I am using it a light fluffy way or of I just called ye a horrendous uber nob) Grin

AlwaysWashing · 01/08/2013 13:21

I can live with being a horrendous uber nob fluckered
Thanks Biscuit Brew

fluckered · 01/08/2013 13:22

Grin good answer!!!

AlwaysWashing · 01/08/2013 13:23

Actually a great thread cos now we've all got a secret, sly insult to throw in when we're having a passive/aggressive moment! Clever stuff.

burberryqueen · 01/08/2013 13:24

it is not as bad as people putting state verbs into the continuous to be honest, hun xx

Elsiequadrille · 01/08/2013 13:29

I disagree, bq. It is much worse than that.

burberryqueen · 01/08/2013 13:30

DioneTheDiabolist · 01/08/2013 13:39

YANBU OP. It aggravates the ghost of my ulcer and makes me want to stab the cunt that used it. And they can take their kisses and fuck off. If I wanted to see slobbering kisses online, I'd fuck off to FB.Angry

JaffaMyCake · 01/08/2013 14:19

YABU Hun Grin

I have never actually seen someone use the word Hun on MN in a serious way Hmm

Littleen · 01/08/2013 14:22

Can't say I can see the issue of "hun" or x or similar stuff :P Can still use these words and have proper grammar! :) I'd rather people try to be friendly, than bitchy!

Dackyduddles · 01/08/2013 14:24

Ill talk how I wish to talk. Write how I wish to write. That's because there's freedom on the Internet to do so.

If I wish to hug or x I will. There's f all you can do about it. When you are elected head of censorship ill listen. Not before.

X

RabbitFromAHat · 01/08/2013 14:24

I saw somebody do that (((((((soft hugs)))))) thing the other day on a thread in an apparently completely sincere fashion. If it had been possible to crawl down the internet, find them, and pound their knuckles with a hammer one by one until they could no longer type, I would have done it. Grin

I'm pretty sure I've mostly seen 'hun' or 'xxx' used when someone is actually having a sly hint that All Is Not As It Seems. It makes me laugh, anyway.

nemno · 01/08/2013 14:27

The Hun and kisses thing occurs most on conception and pregnancy threads I think. But it would be horrible to point it out there.

hellsbells76 · 01/08/2013 14:31

Oh god that (((soft hugs))) thing actually makes my skin crawl. Urrrrrrgh. If you insist on hugging me, make it a proper backslapping bear hug. It's like featherystroke men . Yy to all the 'wifey' bollocks too. Everyone on my fb has started doing that. I may have to kill them all.

valiumredhead · 01/08/2013 14:31

Completely up to individual posters to post in any style they wish!

RabbitFromAHat · 01/08/2013 14:34

YY hellsbells. If someone gave me a soft hug in real life, I would assume they were trying to Claim Me for Jesus or some shit. Hug me properly, or fuck off.
