AIBU?

To not fancy Brad Pitt or George Clooney and other cliches of our time

This is meant to be light-hearted and if you have an enormous crush on either (or both) of these fine actors, then fair play to you but am I alone in thinking that a lot of lazy, cliched chick lit presumes that just cos you're a heterosexual woman in your 40s you're automatically gagging for these two? Feel free to add your own most hated cliche, chick lit or otherwise.

Hmmm, I think I might just be out of whack with normality... I currently fancy Rhod Gilbert, Greg Davies and Hugh Laurie... I'm in my mid twenties. I clearly like older men Grin

Robert Sean Leonard is lovely too though.

I still go doe eyed over Harrison Ford......despite the age gap......but then again, Humphrey Bogart still has the same effect (probably HF basing some of his characters on Humph helps along with that smile of his...........[goes off into daydream emocon]Blush

YANBU. they are too safe, too symmetrical, too predictable. Not keen on Johnny Depp either.

I Do have a soft spot for Tom Cruise, first crush and all that.

but sportsmen are where it's at. I can't stop looking are David Beckham adverts, brave Geraint Thomas cycling the Tour with a fractured pelvis, his mate Peter Kennaugh and of course ........

Richard Burton back in the day was a looker. And that voice!! I'm a sucker for the welsh accent. Hence my constant downloading of Rhod Gilbert's podcasts...
Sean Lock does it for me. Sharp and witty.

Whoever said Rickman can get her filthy paws off him, he is MINE. I'll take Peter Capaldi at the same time, thanks.

I agree, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are way over-rated..... I did like Brad in Thelma and Louise but agree with another poster who says he now looks like he doesn't wash!

Can't stand the self-obsession of him and Angelina and their brood either.

Johnny Depp on the other hand... Grin
I also like Andy Garcia.

Another one I can't stand is Jennifer Aniston, so insipid. Always playing the "goodie goodie girl next door". (Well, I presume, I never watch her films!).

ooh, amiga- Vamos indeedGrin

I've never thought much of Clooney- he has that constant smug look on his face that is supposed to be 'acting'. I liked Brad Pitt in 'Seven' looking a bit rough, far more than during his pretty boy legends of the fall stage.

I've always fancied Gary Oldman. I don't think he's aging particularly well, and is a bit bonkers, but I still wouldWink

And Michael Sheen. He's very underrated, imo.

mrsjay he's much better when he's muscled up though as he was in Star Trek.
Tom Hiddleston is mine btw, just in case anyone was wondering, but not in the Avengers films.

mmmm....Michael Sheen is gorgeous, and I love when his Welsh accent creeps in. He's lovely in interviews as well, very funny and self deprecating. I think he's probably the best Briitsh actor in the world at the moment.

His face looked a lot less angular than it does in Sherlock strangely, much more handsome in the conventional sense.

cushtie -I agree, he's so different in everything he does, a real 'character' actor.

The Clooney, the Pitt, the Cruise (yea gads!), the Jackman - SORRY!
Also: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Hartnett, Chris Pine, David Beckham - SORRY, AGAIN!

Johny Depp years ago, before the Pirates Fiasco, as I call it. He was beautiful in Ed Wood, Dead Man, Donnie Brasco, Cry Baby... now he's a bit meh, imvho.

I have a soft spot for: Nicholas Cage, Judd Nelson, Val Kilmer, Rob Lowe, Paul Bettany, Keanu Reeves.
God, I'm old!

Oh, and whoever mentioned Andy Garcia - always yum.
Hmm... also Kevin Spacey, I always think he seems to have a great sense of humour and we could get stoned and talk shit Grin

Now, River Phoenix was just beautiful. Too polished for my taste, but still beautiful!

Keanu Reeves...especially in Speed/Point Break! The rest-meh. There are literally no male actors in the past 10 years that have done it for me. And as for Channing Tatum...[boak] I don't understand the whole beefcake/fake tan/pink lipstick thing on guys. It makes my skin crawl. And Tom Cruise. The creepiest smarm of them all. Ew.

Happily married and love my husband ,but I love each member of Muse, individually.
I know most people think Matthew Bellamy is odd looking (not me), but Oh! He is a GOD on stage, and extremely clever to boot which I find highly attractive, also Dominic Howard...I love drummers... and Chris Wolsteholme...what a bass player!! And they both have the looks too! 3 very different looking people who are all very attractive to me. Even their unofficial 4th member,Morgan Nicholls, is a talented man... Grin
