And actually have nothing better in their lives than to argue black is white just to piss people off?

OP posts:
babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 20:10

Triggles the basis of the thread was that dogs under control on a lead don't really pose much of a threat but that a lot of owners have experienced kids running up and just fussing them and that if startled by this some dogs could snap as a warning and it would be unfair forthe dog/owner to be blamed. Certain posters believed that as owners we are wholly responsible for their kids actions and that the law supported this. It was pointed out it doesn't but certain people felt that fabrication of law was the way to win their arguement

skyler - no, I think it's fine to feel strongly, but it's usually quite obvious what's strong feeling and what's a wind-up. And most sites do manage to give the benefit of the doubt when it's not obvious.

Someone on the wind-up feels the need to post the same things time and again, on every thread, just to disrupt the discussion.

Someone with strong feelings will respond to what's said, even if their basic view never changes.

Trigglesx · 21/07/2013 20:12

So still begs the question, if you felt so strongly that people were making up false info, why didn't you just keep to that thread, rather than starting a thread about a thread, then protesting that you're not trying to wind anyone up? Confused

FancyPuffin · 21/07/2013 20:14

Back in the day, there was nothing a good Burt Bomb couldn't fix.

northernlurker · 21/07/2013 20:15

Sarah - because stinging is their natural instinct and that should be respected or summat Hmm x 1000!

babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 20:15

I did. But was interested in whether I was just being grumpy or if other people felt some posters are just out to wind each other up.

Have only given details as was pushed to on here

It's not really rocket science to think that if you claim people are giving false info and deliberately causing aggro, that people are going to ask specifically what you're referring to.

And my vote? Grumpy. And guilty of trying to start a bun fight with a thread about a thread.

SarahStrattonIsBackForJustABit · 21/07/2013 20:18

The foam stuff and a well aimed match is ^far better Grin

SarahStrattonIsBackForJustABit · 21/07/2013 20:20

And you can't go around baiting us with 'false info spreading', it's far, far too juicy a subject.

scottishmummy · 21/07/2013 20:21

There's no particular resolution. the professionally offended are always indignant
As soon as I see lot SadAngryHmm I just know its gone tits up

Trigglesx · 21/07/2013 20:21

baiting?? oh heavens... I will resist joke... I will resist joke... Grin

Trigglesx · 21/07/2013 20:24

I always have to laugh when people use the phrase "professionally offended". They generally are implying that anyone that disagrees with them, no matter what, are "professionally offended." It's easier than admitting they might actually be.... wrong. Hmm

Lizzylou · 21/07/2013 20:29

If it's a dog thread I just avoid tbh.
I am not a lover of dogs and some overzealous owners make me too ragey. Which is not why I MN.

I thought you were talking about other threads tbh. I read some seriously weird ones earlier.

scottishmummy · 21/07/2013 20:29

Professionally offended, find, seek and thrice in perceived slight and offence

usualsuspect · 21/07/2013 20:30

I read a weird one earlier, not sure if it's still there though.

Most odd it was.

LRDYaDumayuIThink · 21/07/2013 20:31

Seriously weird?

Like that nutter who spread false weasel rumours a while ago?

HoneyDragon · 21/07/2013 20:34

I am a dog lover, I post on dog threads, I manage not to insult people on them though, so I don't think it's a dog thread thing, or we'd all be doing it.

The moment a poster posts "you are a" to another poster is usually when I know its time to stroll away.

usualsuspect · 21/07/2013 20:34

Nowhere near as weird as the false weasel info nutter.

Lizzylou · 21/07/2013 20:35

x usual?

Sock puppetry and baiting and worse. Troubling.

LRDYaDumayuIThink · 21/07/2013 20:35

You are a total weasel-loving, dragon-shaped songstress. Angry Sad Hmm

(I am trying to pander to scottish with the emoticons as I know it gives her a little happy feeling.)

UnexpectedStepmum · 21/07/2013 20:37

OP I got bored with that dog thread because you popped up throughout, repeatedly saying exactly the same thing - and again here! Just saying " that's not what this thread is about" is annoying and ignores the fact that discussions can develop, and you may bring in related topics.

You also used text language, got riled when this was commented on, and were the only person I saw who had comments deleted for being unnecessarily rude. Trying to re-hash the whole thing on another thread AGAIN yes, is VVV unreasonable.

SarahStrattonIsBackForJustABit · 21/07/2013 20:38

I will NOT fall for the False Weasel bluff.

I will not.

No I won't.

What false weasel info? Hmm

scottishmummy · 21/07/2013 20:39

You know what I may start sock puppeting for myself, big up my posts
Next time I get a irascible youse this that poster,I'm going to pile in support myself
Oh yes I can see it all now, just got to master name changing and parallel posts

UnexpectedStepmum · 21/07/2013 20:39

Italicisation fail. Must remember am Luddite and stop trying to use clever emphases clearly beyond me.

(Would do embarrassed emoticon but fears further failure...)
