Just opened the neighbours letter box to let them smell my cheese on toast and something grabbed it out my hand.

I think it was a dog

Is a bit cheese on toast ok for a dog?

Should I knock on their door and check it's ok for the dog to eat cheese?

Cheese is fine for dogs. I use it often for training. The stinkier the better, bread is not so great but won't cause any lasting damage.

FWIW my cat would have nabbed it - we have to fight him off if we are eating pasta/toast/cheese on toast/cereal/pizza. Dunno about dogs but doesn't seem to have done the cat any harm yet.

All our dogs loved cheese, just don't make it an every day thing- my dogs were on the porkier side!

I had a dog that used to peel the cheese off the toast and leave the toast. The dog I currently have won't touch amy kind of sandwich no matter what's in it.
